I hope you are all well and enjoying the summer. I have been busy as usual and have been helping Supreme Nutrition with 2 forthcoming products that should be available in a month or so. One I am particularly excited about. According to the research and our testing, this product should help bind endotoxins and thus alleviate many of the symptoms they can cause. We have sold out of hard copies of Body Restoration. It is still available as a kindle book on amazon.com. I believe the ICAK still has a few hard copies for sale if you want a hard copy. We may reprint it at some time in the future though I would first like to update it and include work on coagulation, etc. The Body Restoration CD cookbook is still available as a disk (see last page).

Case History
1) Lois is a 46 year old woman who I have been treating once or twice yearly for 5 years as she lives very rurally about 4 hours away from our Grand Junction office. She came in 4 months ago complaining of numbness and tingling in her whole left hand including all 5 fingers. She had been seeing a local DC who had been unsuccessful in bringing any relief. She occasionally also had the numbness on the right side as well. By the time she came in, the numbness had been going on for 3 months.
Lois exhibited no obvious muscle dysfunction or major subluxations in her cervical spine or her shoulders, forearms, arms or wrists. We ran her through our protocol and found issues with ovalbumin and gliadin as well as lead (AK Test Kits 1-888-323-0625). Nine months prior to the onset on symptoms she had moved to a different house. This "new" house was next door to an ore storage facility. The area she lives in is known for its rich deposits of lead, zinc, copper, silver, and gold. Their home's water supply is a well on the property. At the time of our exam we were not aware of her move and the possibility of metal toxicity and we had not found metals on previous visits (before the move).
The substance that "blocked" the positive lead vial was Takesumi Supreme (Supreme Nutrition Products 1-800-922-1744) and we prescribed one scoop 3x daily for one week and then twice daily until the bottle was gone and then for her to return and get re-evaluated. This is a higher dose than we usually give but we wanted to see if it would make an impact. We always warn patients that getting black stools is a normal side effect of taking Takesumi.
Lois returned two months later. She said it took 2-3 weeks for the numbness to start to resolve and it was now 100% resolved. Lead no longer tested positive though we continue to monitor her and have encouraged her to get her water tested as we have been unsure if the exposure was water or air borne.
2) Alex is a 50 year old male I have been treating a few times a year for approximately 20 years. He is usually relatively asymptomatic and comes for maintenance checks. He takes his health seriously, practices yoga daily, eats carefully, goes to the gym regularly, etc. He is prone to experiment with various new health regimens etc.
He came in recently complaining of bilateral swollen ankles of about a month’s duration. There was no truama. Recently he had begun working in the oil fields to supplement his income and has to work 12 hour days outside in 100 degree weather.
I suspected perhaps chemicals form the oil field causing a toxic reaction.
We found no evidence of toxins, microbes or food reactions. While laying prone, if he raised his legs a weak indicator muscle strengthened. Upon further exploration he shared that he had been on a salt free diet for the past month. Testing sea salt, it strengthened a weak indicator muscle. We advised him to put 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt in the gallon of water he brought to work daily and to have his snack consist of salted nuts. His condition quickly resolved. It appeared his problem was part lymphatic and part adrenal, all secondary to a deficiency of sodium or sodium chloride. A very unique case for me.

Hello Doctor; As always I love your newsletters and am fascinated by all the new products. For some years I have been having my patients test their urine for pH. Environmentally ill people tend to test very acid. Two of your

3) This is a no brainer but one of the obvious causes of insomnia is caffeine ingestion. I recently had a patient who has had insomnia and drinks one cup of coffee in the morning as her sole caffeine intact. With a half life of 8 hours, one quarter of that caffeine was still in her body at bedtime. She had come in for other issues but on her second visit reported she hasn’t slept as well in forty years as she has been since I took her off the caffeine. This is a common occurrence.
It is misleading to promote coffee and chocolate as health foods due to their anti-oxidant content. What if we find poison ivy or tobacco leaves to be high in anti-oxidants as well as vitamins A and C? Would we promote those too?
In my practice it is rare when a patient does not exhibit abnormal muscle function (usually a hypertonic muscle) when exposed to caffeine and/or one of its breakdown products (Food Toxin Kit, AK Test Kits). I always have to warn patients about withdrawal symptoms but I continue to be amazed at how often many kinds of symptoms are helped including low energy. My main symptoms from caffeine ingestion is headaches and thumb pain and inflammation.
4) I just recorded a short audio for ICAK members on “The Hypertonic Muscle” discussing the underlying biochemical reasons and the role of footwear in also potentially causing it (thanks to Dr Gangemi’s research). Those of you that are members should receive it sometime this year. Even though within AK, the “hypotonic” muscle is looked at as being primary and the “hypertonic” as being secondary to that, it is not always the case. I discussed hypertonic muscles and their importance back in the 1990’s and then shelved it as I went in other directions. While I was studying it, an MD from Germany had come to study with me and I shared my findings with him. I saw him a few years ago for the first time since then and he thanked me for that research saying how much it had helped his practice. I had to go back and read what I had written and it sparked my interest in looking again at the phenomena. You can also read a little bit about it in my “Food Toxin” paper on my website and I speak about it on my seminar DVD.

Part 2 explains the role of dysbiosis, food intolerances, toxic metals, nutritional deficiencies and neurotransmitter imbalances in health.
The book is a great review for the doctor, but better yet it is a great tool to recommend to your patient. It will give them a better understanding of how their body works and the causes of health and disease, as well as the rationale of why you treat the way you do. It is very pro chiropractic.
