CASE HISTORY
This case history was reported by Dr. Steve Tyks DC in Maine:
Derek, a healthy, well-muscled, 30 year old, presented at my office because of upper left quadrant pain of three months duration that spread to his left flank and upper lumbar spine. Previously, blood work, CAT and MRI, were negative, ruling out kidney disease. Constant pain was reported at 5/10 in bed, 8/10 day time. A chiropractic exam was performed using motion and static palpation which revealed a fixation at L2 which I adjusted manually; minimal pain reduction was noticed. I suspected microbial involvement and reached for the Dr. Lebowitz protocol materials for a cursory review of the involved area (only due to time constraint).
The first two vials chosen, Lyme and Biofilm (AK Test Kits 970-201-7406) were positive over the tender spleen area. BFB#1 and Schisandra (Supreme Nutrition 800-922-1744) negated the diagnostic vials. Several drops of BFB#1 were applied to the area. He was raised to standing. Derek began flexing, extending, lateral bending and twisting, searching for the once constant pain. He was instructed to come back in two days. He applied BFB#1 until he returned 10 days later. His back pain resolved but the upper quadrant pain returned. BFB 1#&2 and Schisandra were positive. Oils were re-applied with 100% pain relief. He politely declined to re-schedule. He was doing more labs. He said he was confused about the experience. Phone follow up on June 2; Derek said his back pain is gone. His said the anterior pain returned, labs were negative. He was to meet a new medical specialist. He was encouraged to rule out any truly medical issues and return for a proper protocol.
Dr L comment- I found this novel use of BFB very interesting. The oil can though be quite strong so exercise caution if using it outside of the recommended fashion. Make sure it tests well and start with as low a dose as possible. Derek was unfamiliar with non-allopathic treatment which led to his less than stellar compliance.
