Dear Colleagues and Friends;

I pray everyone is thriving physically, emotionally and spiritually. Usually the end of the year is a time for contemplation and I hope we can all learn and grow during these times.

I have had 2 friends effected by covid-19 without pre-existing conditions who suffered severe consequences (1 fatality) but dozens with manageable if no symptoms (with a + PCR test). I am just going to ramble a bit making no definite conclusions just thoughts and observations relevant to me.

Many of you known that 10 years ago I suffered from an unknown infection that led to multiple pulmonary embolisms that almost killed me and then relapsed 2 years later. In many ways the symptom picture had much in common with a severe covid case. I know that most covid deaths had obvious pre-existing conditions though there are some that did not.

I wonder on the previously “asymptomatic” patients who got “severe covid” if we would have examined them would we have found any of the following:

1) Dysbiosis which could set up massive inflammation and deficiencies

2) Food reactions which could also do the above and lower zinc needed for the immune response

3) Toxicities of chemicals and metals which could also do the above

4) Genetic tendency towards hypercoagulation

5) Genetic tendency towards immune suppression, inflammatory prostaglandin, leucotriene or histamine excess, etc

6) Poor diet, lack of exercise, poor sleeping habits (not enough sleep, going to bed too late, etc)

7) Dehydration

8) Excessive EMF exposure which can lower melatonin production, lower P5P levels etc.

9) Lack of sun exposure or sun exposure only when lathered in sunscreen

The list can go on but could any combo of the above might contribute to an unhealthy response to the virus.

I think the post covid “long haulers” with symptoms that are ongoing after the acute stage has passed will need all the above addressed and the people we have seen who have been long haulers have responded in very positive ways. It is unlikely that someone would have only covid as a finding but many of the above add to the total load.

With that being said I wanted to give you 2 anecdotal case histories relayed to me that you may find interesting. Remember everyone is different and no one treatment protocol will work for everyone.

1. One man a 54 year old carpenter on a healthy diet and lifestyle came down with acute covid and almost died. The hospital wasn’t sure what to do and sent them home (no comment). He decided to nebulize H2O2 as well as take Morinda Supreme, Houttynia Supreme, Camu Supreme and Dan Shen Supreme. Within 48 hours his oxygen saturation went from a self-measure 85% to 97%. 3 months later he still was only about 50% energy/endurance. He was also suffering from night sweats and excessive sweating in general as well as chest pain (said he felt like he was having a heart attack). He went to the ER and the labs they did were normal. The MD said it must be pericarditis and prescribed 325mg aspirin a day. He is a personal friend and asked our (my and Noah’s) advice. AK tests showed reactivity to vials for many microbes, foods, etc and it was suggested he take Albizia Supreme, Vital Guard Supreme (Supreme Nutrition Products 800-922-1744), Basic Nutrients V (Thorne), Magnesium Citrate (Douglas) and Pro EPA (Nordic). Within 2 days the night sweats stopped but he was still in his opinion only 60-70%. We saw him again a few weeks later and had him jog in place for 2 minutes before testing. He hadn’t tried jogging since covid and we just wanted to stress his system before testing. We found reactivity to more microbes and foods. He was placed on Melia Supreme, Scutellaria Supreme and we dropped Basic Nutrients and Pro EPA. Within a few days he felt he was fully recovered and has remained that way.

2. 60 year old obese diabetic male in Nicaragua came down with covid and was hospitalized. On 11/23 his CRP was 123 and Ferritin was 1,300. A physician I know advised the following: Dan Shen 2x3 (to possibly prevent hypercoagulation and cardiac damage), Melia Supreme 1x3, (Scutellaria Supreme was prescribed but they were unable to get it), Camu Supreme 2 scoops 4x/day, Illicium Supreme 1 cap 3x/day, Albizia (anti-inflammatory and for lung support), Thorne Vitamin D/K2 20 drops daily, Zinc 30 mg daily. The next day his CRP dropped to 103 but ferritin rose to 2,000. 10 gm of Vit C daily above the amount in Camu was added. 11/25 CRP down to 56 and ferritin to 900. 11/26 3 days after initial prescription CRP down to 33. In a 48 hour period his x-ray which showed pneumonia in all lobes of the lungs became clear. His MD wanted to start using the herbs on his other patients.

It was good this was an international case just because of the politics here on using alternative medicine.

I think as time goes on and more and more novel diseases and chronic immune conditions start to increase perhaps exponentially, we need to stay vigilant in keeping strong. I’ve been eating much more nutrient dense food (seaweeds, liver etc), getting tested regularly and taking nutrients and herbs as needed.

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season and I hope to see many of you in 2021. We are busy planning the 2021 ICAK meeting and hope to also teach in spring perhaps in Phoenix or CA depending on restrictions, etc.

MATERIALS AVAILABLE FROM DR. MICHAEL LEBOWITZ

1.Vimeo: Treating the Complex Patient 2019: This seminar, approximately 4 hours long will teach the physician a simple to apply, effective protocol to treat patients with chronic fatigue, allergies, chemical sensitivities, intestinal dysbiosis, (fungal, bacterial, parasitic, spirochete, and viral infections), food sensitivities, food toxin intolerance, hypercoagulation problems, toxic metal issues, endocrine dysfunction, nutritional imbalances, chronic pain and subluxations, fibromyalgia, etc. The seminar is suited for both the novice and the advanced practitioners in our work and is much updated from our last one. A complete set of notes accompanies class. https://michaellebowitzdc.com/html/seminar.html

2. Personal Seminars with Dr. Lebowitz: Dr. Lebowitz teaches seminars to one or two doctors at a time at his office on Maui and also in Honolulu. This is probably the best way to learn our protocols with a personalized, hands on experience. Cost is $400 per physician and the class runs 9AM-4PM. For more info or to schedule call us at 970-623-9565. Noah Lebowitz DC is also available to teach the class (and sometimes you get us both).

3. Test Kits for Dr. Lebowitz protocol - Call Cynthia at AK Test Kits 970 201-7406 or see our website http://www.michaellebowitzdc.com for more details. These kits will greatly simplify and speed up your testing making you more efficient and accurate in patient assessment. These are “diagnostic kits”. Supplement kits are ordered directly from Supreme Nutrition 1-800-922-1744. In our protocol we typically use the protocol kit, biofilm kit, mycotoxin kit, and food kit A. Other kits as needed.

4. Body Restoration An Owners Manual - An updated and expanded version of my first book Body Mechanics published almost 30 years ago. Part 1 has a chapter on each organ/gland. Each chapter teaches basic anatomy and physiology, causes and symptoms of dysfunction, as well as simple treatments your patient can do at home to complement your treatment. Part 2 explains the role of dysbiosis, food intolerances, toxic metals, nutritional deficiencies and neurotransmitter imbalances in health. The book is a great review for the doctor, but better yet it is a great tool to recommend to your patient. It will give them a better understanding of how their body works and the causes of health and disease, as well as the rationale of why you treat the way you do. It is very pro chiropractic. It is available for $1.99 on kindle at https://www.amazon.com/Body-Restoration-Owners-Manual-ebook/dp/B0050653C4/

5. Body Restoration Cookbook - This companion volume to the above book was written by Cynthia Lebowitz and is now available free online (donations accepted). A wonderful tool for your patients as it contains almost 100 recipes- most without gluten, dairy, nightshades, etc. Body Restoration Cookbook

6. God’s Preventative Medicine- It explains how the Levitical Priests dealt with fungal dysbiosis both preventatively and treatment wise as well as the reasons behind some of the other health laws of the Torah. It is a short easy to understand book and fascinating for the student of health and the Bible God's Preventative Medicine
