Dear Colleagues

I hope you are doing well. We have had the opportunity to train quite a few doctors here at our office recently as well as work on some professional athletes, which has been fun and hopefully will improve their performance. In general, doing our basic protocol of correcting dysbiosis, food sensitivities, toxic metals, nutrient deficiencies has made athletes less injury prone, as well as increased their endurance and performance.

Dr. Jay Wilson and I will probably be waiting until the fall to teach our yearly seminar together, so until then our only teaching will be the one on one seminars here at the office (see page 3).

CASE HISTORIES

1. Kathy is a 21 year old female diagnosed 3 years ago with Rheumatoid Arthritis. Her symptoms had been controlled by Prednisone, Vioxx, and Humera, but after the bad publicity on Celebrex, etc. she opted off her prescriptions and her symptoms returned full force. She was seeing another AK doctor who uses a different protocol and it was not helping.

She weakened on composite vials to virus and parasites (AK Test Kits 1-888-323-0625) as well as garlic and nightshades. We placed her on Im-Encap, Artecin, B-Complex#1 (Thorne Research 1-800-228-1966), and Isocort (Bezwecken 1-800-743-2256). She returned three weeks later, totally asymptomatic except for a neck subluxation that was easily corrected. She needs to stay on Isocort and B-Complex#1 and we are keeping her off nightshades. Sometimes RA cases can be difficult but Kathy responded very fast and is very pleased. She goes to college about 300 miles from here and we gave her the name of a trusted colleague there and she will come in here periodically when back home.

2. Jane is a 53 year old female who came if June 2004 complaining of severe inhalant allergies that had been going on for many years. They would start in April and run through October. In the spring of 2004 they were especially bad and included an anaphylactic reaction of unknown origin. She also suffered from fatigue, headaches and a rash of three months duration. She needed weekly chiropractic adjustments (by another chiropractor as she lived 200 miles away) as well as massage to prevent severe musculo-skeletal pain.

On testing she weakened on the following composite vials (AK Test Kits): virus, fungus, rickettsia, food additives, pollens, as well as individual vials of oats, chocolate, and tomatoes.

We desensitized her, took her off the positive foods as well as the “fungal promoting foods” (sweetening, juice, dried fruit, vinegar, alcohol, cheese, yeast and fermented soy products). We supplemented with Undecyn, Arabinex, Basic B Complex, and Biomins II (Thorne). This is a fairly typical pattern we see in people with “liver stress” that Undecyn tests better than SF722 and instead of Basic Nutrients, Biomins II and Basic B show up. We never heard from her until Feb 2005 (she had cancelled her recheck). She said she became asymptomatic very fast- her inhalant allergies and rash left within a week. She hasn’t had a headache since and hasn’t needed an adjustment or massage (I even found her spine to be subluxation free, which is rare as you know). She appeared this time for what she called a wellness check. I found she needed NutriFem (strange for a 53 year old) and otherwise was negative on our protocol. She was well pleased.

3. Yvette is an RN who was a little skeptical but presented in August 2004. Ever since esophageal surgery a year previously she had been suffering from explosive diarrhea up to 12 times daily. She guesses it was from a clostridium infection from exposure at the hospital. Flagyl had brought very temporary relief but after 6 rounds of it in the first five months, she stopped and suffered for 7 more months. On testing, she weakened on composite vials of bacteria and parasites (AK Test Kits) and we gave her Artecin and Berbercap (Thorne). She too cancelled her recheck (this does not happen very often though I am presenting 2 cases in this newsletter). She had 4 months of normal bowel movements and recently things had gradually relapsed with the addition of “yeasty smelling gas” and pain over her liver. This time she weakened on Parasites 2 and Fungus (AK test Kits) and needed Juglans (Eclectic), SF722 and SAT (Thorne). I expect good and fast progress and hope she doesn’t cancel her recheck.

CLINICAL TIDBITS

With the spring allergy season upon us we encourage you to start testing the pollen composite vial on patients as well as individual vials (AK Test Kits). If any are positive see if HMC Hesperidan, SB313, Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate, QC nasal spray or Folacal (all Thorne) negate it. Desensitize and supplement. Also have the patient rub the sinus NL that is right under the clavicle along the whole length of it. Rub it 3x/week for one minute or so each time, concentrating on the most tender areas. We also find that many grains will weaken while touching the sinus or lung NL this time of year only and should be desensitized. In tough cases, avoiding the grain temporarily is recommended.
