Dear Colleagues:
I thought in this newsletter I would include some cases histories that various practitioners were kind enough to send in. We cannot guarantee to publish everyone’s case history but we will try (if they utilize our protocol and we think they will help our readership), so please continue to share them.
Case History 1 submitted by Stephan Frank (Sweden), his email follows:
“Hello Dr. Lebowitz! I want to thank you for your work and the wonderful protocol. My results have improved amazingly. Here is one case that I would like to share with you: In August 2004 I saw a female in her 60’s. I told her to bring in her medicines, etc. She showed up with 20 or more different medicines for all kinds of symptoms. She told me that she had about 6 months left in life, and was planning to depart… Seeing me was her last try (she had tried a lot of different MD’s and others with no results at all). She showed a long, long list of symptoms. The most obvious ones were that she could barely walk, heavy breathing, stiff, in pain, heavy constipation, etc. She has now been seeing us every 3-4 weeks (this email was written 3-16), and I have found and treated the following: Fungi (Undecyn, SF722), Bacteria (Berbercap), Protozoa (Artecin), Virus (Arabinex and Im-Encap), Helicobacter (SF734), Toxic metals (almost every one known) (Captomer, Thiocid, Glutathione, Cyste+, they changed every visit), Basic Nutrients IV, Ascorbic Acid, Omega Plus, Mediclear, Zinc Carbonate, Thyrocsin. All nutrients were Thorne Research (1-800-228-1966) and “diagnostic” testing vials were Test Kit Consultants (1-888-323-0625). She got better after the very first visit, and showed improvement day after day. She has ended treatment of most medicines. Now she is almost free of all her symptoms and has started a new life!”
Case History 2 submitted by Eric Chandley DC (NC)
Here is an interesting case story I thought your subscribers may like. Jane Doe had been a regular “Chiropractic” patient of mine for about two years. She was not interested in changing her diet or taking any nutritional supplements, so I just treated her structurally. She had been on birth control pills since she was fourteen to treat her abnormal menstrual cycles, and every year she would to have the dosages increased to
stop her from cycling too fast and too heavy. Well, she reached the point where no amount of birth control pills or injections would stop her from menstruating for three weeks and then having one week of no menstruating. Her medical doctor was a hormonal specialist MD/Ph.D and was considering shutting down her reproductive cycle temporarily with medication. It was at this point that she then became interested in getting an alternate treatment plan for her condition. I told her that I could not take her off of her medicines, and that she would have to talk to her medical doctor about the safety of discontinuing her medications.
She went off her medications, and I took her through Dr. Lebowitz’s new protocols. She tested positive for fungus, which was only negated by Coptis by Thorne (1-800-228-1966). She tested positive for mixed rickettsia and protozoa (Test Kit Consultants) which was negated by Scutellaria (by Ecclectic 1-800-332-HERB)) Coptis and Berbercap by Thorne. I could not get her to clear on protozoa until she stopped brushing her teeth with the water from her faucet. She weakened on her water sample, which was negated by the above herbs. Her entire endocrine system was malfunctioning from an Applied Kinesiology standpoint. The treatment of this system over an eight month period of time included Basic Nutrients 1, 2, and 5, Glycine, Cortrex, CalMag Citrate, Captomer 250, Black Currant Seed Oil, EPA, Herb Bulk, Herb Lax and Thiocid which are all by Thorne. She tested positive for the mixed metals, which was negated by Captomer 250 and Thiocid. Captomer was also useful topically to treat pain in the serratus anterior muscles bilaterally. She tested positive to a variety of foods throughout the course of her care. Surprisingly she was fine on all dairy products by her second visit, but continually became re-sensitized to celery and garlic. She admitted that if she would start eating those two items she could not do so in moderation, and would put them on at least two meals daily via a Cajun seasoning preparation. I also used a hypothalamus supplement from Standard Process. I also used a progesterone cream, Natural Woman, for about three months early in her course of care because it was very effective at controlling her bleeding symptoms. Interestingly enough, about 10 weeks into taking the progesterone she began developing migraine headaches that quickly resolved when I took her off the cream. (She did test negatively for the cream at that time.)
The end result was that we normalized her menstrual cycle to picture perfect inside of eight months and eight visits. She improved after every treatment and was very grateful for the final result. Eric Chandley, DC
Case History (Group) 3 The next group of observations were sent to me by Dr John Manning DC (Masachusetts). John uses our protocols but also adds his own creativity and innovativeness at times. I thank him for sharing this with us.
Quick updates/observations on two (of many) interesting cases of late:
1.) 30-ish female school teacher. Slipped on cement stairs at school...fractured elbow -- distal humerus, radial head, proximal ulna!! Several surgeries followed. Residual ROM loss. AK procedures -- soft tissue and manipulation, etc., big help with pain and range, but patient left with loss. 10 mos later third surgery to re-position Ulnar Nerve.
For several months following surgery -- patient unable to even lightly touch scar at medial elbow without immediate severe nausea -- literally causes vomiting(!) if forces self to massage it. Family MD, and surgeon's diagnoses: "It's in your head".
Followed up with me --> Positive T-L scar; and double T-L to small intestine. Screen of vials over K27 -- all negative. Screen over medial elbow scar (as well as over small
intestine) -- MIXED FUNGUS (Test Kit Consultants vial) positive. Negated by black currant seed oil, Vit. C, and SF 722 (Thorne Research 1-800-228-1966). Patient's symptoms decreased in two days. Totally relieved in 7 days.
2.) 30 year old male painting contractor/avid golfer presents with migrating L shoulder pain. Insidious onset 6 months earlier, but possibly related to hitting golf shot "fat". Pain difficult to localize -- A/C/ joint, C-T junction, general deltoid, etc. Mechanical chiropractic work (C's, T's ribcage, etc.), soft tissue, NL's, O-I, Thera-Band rehab, cold packing, etc., all helpful but short-lived. Broadening my approach -- I looked to teeth. Middle deltoid weakness negated by T-L to two ipsilateral lower molars!! Screen of vials at K-27 all negative. Screen over involved molars --> (+) FUNGAL! Undecyn (4/day), Vit C with Flavanoids (Thorne) and Standard Process Ligaplex I began to yield subjective relief for patient in under a week. Continues to improve (now approximately 6 weeks). Virtually pain-free past 2-3 weeks.
Observations (on these and other cases):
1. Huge microbial load in oral cavity and around teeth. More common than not to find positive (symptomatic or not) after almost ANY dental procedure -- including routine cleaning!
2. Much more common than I had recognized, to find LOCAL toxicity of various kinds. You have noted localized metal accumulations -- revealed only by testing metals over involved joint for instance. I am finding that this phenomenon is common for ALL microbes. TRY TESTING THE VIALS OVER AREA OF COMPLAINT. I believe that you will instantly up your positive findings by at least a third. I rarely use K-27 any more. Too many false negatives. After screening endocrine, digestive, immune via old Schmitt protocol -- and finding lowest common denominator organ -- I screen microbes OVER THAT ORGAN (either the organ itself or the NL -- they seem to correlate).
System-wide results of addressing underlying loads via Lebowitz technique continue to amaze. In past, for example, I might find a primary functional hypoadrenia, and support with appropriate nutrients (always via muscle testing to target). NOW though, I find that 80% of time, if I screen vials over the adrenals (in this case), one or more will test positive. Appropriate support which negates microbe(s) will almost always strengthen adrenals and all other involved organs. Many times, specific adrenal support is unnecessary (although sometimes wise of course) initially.
Dr. Lebowitz comment: John has found on occasion it is advantageous to test vials over symptomatic areas. We have found that in most cases testing over GV-20 will be accurate but like John says, in those tougher cases testing over symptomatic areas can yield additional important findings.
FYI
On our website we have added a patient handout for fungal issues and other information regarding the protocol. Feel free to use it or modify it to suit your needs.
1.VIDEO- Correcting Chronic Health Problems 2003: This video seminar, approximately 6 hours long will teach the physician a simple to apply, effective protocol to treat patients with chronic fatigue, allergies, chemical sensitivities, intestinal dysbiosis, (fungal, bacterial, parasitic, and viral infections), food sensitivities, altered intestinal permeability, toxic metal problems, endocrine dysfunction, nutritional imbalances, chronic pain and subluxations. Knowledge of basic muscle testing is helpful. A complete protocol is taught that you can use to treat even the most chronic patients. The video is suited for both the novice and the advanced practitioners in our work and has many changes from previous videos. A complete set of advanced notes accompanies the video. This video supercedes our previous ones. Price is $250 and can be paid by check to our office or paypal to noach2343@aol.com. There is a paypal link on our website to pay also.
