Dear Colleagues

I hope you all are well. I would like to apologize to you for MT Labs- producers of Probiomine (the great amino acid blend for athletic performance, rejuvenation etc.) Due to the large amount of orders and re-orders the manufacturer couldn’t keep up with the demand and at times it was back ordered for a few weeks. According to company owner Todd Taylor, that problem has been taken care of and they have a large supply on hand. They switched to a new manufacturer (you will notice a different smell to the product) and the version supplied by the new manufacturer actually tests slightly better than the “older” version despite identical ingredients (probably due to different manufacturers of at least one of the raw materials). To order, call Todd at 970-433-2644. If you are not familiar with the product go to my website and read Newsletter 164 April 2005.

Todd recently received this testimonial from a chiropractor in NJ:

“My two sons have been using Probiomine for about 3 weeks. My older son
(22) has been rowing for University of Delaware for 4 years. He told me that
after 1 week the changes he has noticed is that his muscles are no longer
sore and achy all the time and his recovery time has shortened. He has
also achieved two personal bests (one week #2 and one week #3) on the ergometer.
His teammates are now questioning what changed.
My other son (19) has been weight lifting for a few years. He also said his
muscles don’t ache after a very hard lifting session like they used to and
he too also achieved a personal best on his lifting.
Both have said they have noticed a noticeable increase in muscle mass and
endurance as well as a more rapid recovery time.
I have been taking it for 1 week. I ride competitive bicycles and noticed
on a training ride this morning that my time for the ride was much better
without additional effort. I am 56 yrs. old.”

Probiomine doesn’t give amazing results to everyone but it helps enough patients to make it a valuable supplement to carry. My wife who has been having trouble sleeping has been doing much better since starting to take it. If you have had a positive experience with it please send me your report on it.

CASE HISTORY

  1. Yesterday I had a new patient from Aspen, which is about 120 miles away. I have quite a few Aspen patients and always asked new patients “who referred you”. She replied “Tim Smith. You fixed his ulcerative colitis 3 years ago and he has been fine ever since”. I didn’t remember a “Tim Smith” so I dug out his records this morning. I saw Tim on 1/30/02. He presented with “extreme colon pain with ulceration”. A colonoscopy he had in 2001 showed moderate ulceration in multiple areas of the colon and the physician said it was “100% genetic”. Our exam showed evidence of fungal and parasite issues as well as a sensitivity to soy. We prescribed 3 supplements all by Thorne Research (1-800-228-1966): Formula SF722 (3 caps 3 times daily), Artecin (1 cap 3 times daily) and Quercetone (1 cap 3 times daily) and had him follow a diet for 21 days of no soy, refined sweetening, fermented items (fungal fermented items were avoided, bacterially fermented items were allowed) and no cheese. I never heard from Tim again. This happens too often in my practice as many patients travel from long distances to see me and do not feel that motivated to make a return trip unless they need to. I always tell them to call me but many do not and being relatively shy and also busy, I do not call them if I haven’t heard from them. It turned out that Tim did wonderfully and a follow up colonoscopy showed no ulceration and he remains asymptomatic to this day. I must admit that I keep much better contact with my local patients but with my out of town ones, I place all the responsibility in their hands.

SEMINARS

We are still conducting personal seminars here at my office. Sundays are the best day though other days can often be arranged (Saturdays are not available). It is a great way to learn our techniques and since it is one on one I try my best to make sure everything is understood and mastered as well as tailored to fit your needs. The cost is $300 for the day. For those of you that would rather attend a classroom type seminar with the best in academics etc. Jay Wilson and I are tentatively planning a Denver seminar probably in September. Once dates are confirmed I will let you know.

OTHER INFORMATION

We have heard that Thorne Research has decided not to discontinue Zinc Carbonate. I am very thankful since that is the form of zinc that I am many of my sensitive patients test best on.

It seems more and more people are being diagnosed with receding gums and many dentists want to jump in and do grafts and well as some very deep scraping etc. I have had a number of patients who have developed infections from these procedures, one severe enough to require hospitalization (kidney infection). It seems that microbes that were only causing some localized problems are “stirred up” and adding the trauma of the procedure to that and the infection spreads. I recently received the same diagnosis of receding gums (not severe enough to recommend anything invasive). I chose to take CO-10 and Folic Acid Liquid (Thorne). The Folic Acid I took a capful 3x/day and “swished it” around in my mouth before swallowing. I also bought some tea tree oil impregnated toothpicks and rubbed into the gum line once daily. The hygienist was very impressed with the change that occurred over a 6 week period and wanted to know what I had done so she could recommend the procedure to other patients looking for an alternative to try first. We have successfully recommended this procedure to 4 or 5 patients over the last few years.
