Dear Colleagues
I hope you all are doing well. I thought I would print out some letters and case histories I have received from others in the past month. I have found them very interesting. Not everyone who gets this newsletter does AK as you will see from these letters but some physicians use what we teach to fit into their own non-AK practice styles and as you can see get wonderful results.
Two letters from a great MD
Dear Dr. Lebowitz; I've received your newsletter for some time but never have gotten around to writing. I am finally motivated enough. I was struck by your letter on the Morinda Supreme (Mid American Marketing 1-800-922-1744) and have found it to help some of my patients that I’ve been trying to help for YEARS! So thank you. I am an internist and so don't have the skills/expertise that you and many people you teach have with muscle testing and I wondered if you know of anyone in my area or provide a list of your contacts for the purpose of referrals (ML- just call our office 970-257-0311 for referrals). I’ve been wishing for a long time to find someone proficient in muscle testing to refer to. I am 35 miles south of Ithaca New York and my work address is 417 North Elmira Street, Athens, Pennsylvania. Scranton, PA, Syracuse, Binghamton, Ellmira, Corning, Ithaca, NY all are within 90 miles. I would be most grateful if you can help with this. I have completely built the practices of good chiropractors and acupuncturists in the area. Thanks again for the newsletters and all your expertise. I wish you were closer to me!

LETTER 2 with 2 Case Histories from Barbara Harvey MD
Thanks so much for taking the time to write back. Don't think I have the knack to do any body/energy work; I wish I did. You are welcome to use any Morinda comments of mine of course. I have several amazing stories. One young woman in her 30’s I'd been following for a few years with 14 liquid stools a day.
Colonoscopy ruled out colitis, stool cultures never showed anything; one day recently she returned to say she'd had a laparoscopy to try to figure out infertility and endometriosis had been found. I have always found a link with that and Candida so we started her on Candex; an enzyme that digests cell wall of yeasts; got a bit of relief but still having multiple liquid stools per day. So we next tried Morinda and she is now having normal bowel movements.
Another woman I follow again for a long time; among other problems we had identified bacterial overgrowth as well as a severe Candida problem (via Metametrix's "dysbiosis markers). We had tried all kinds of things; the Candex again, Nystatin, antibiotics all of which would give her terrible die-off symptoms that she just couldn't function. She's barely functional anyway; can barely form a sentence or remember anything from moment to moment. When I learned about Morinda from your newsletter I of course got her started and she can now form coherent sentences, remember, and has dramatically less gas. Wonderful stuff. I wish I could find your
newsletter when you wrote to tell us about it; I was making copies of it to give to people and since I moved in July I haven't been able to locate. Any chance you can send me another one? Barb Harvey, M.D. 417 No Main Street, Athens PA 18810. Thanks again for all your expertise and caring enough to get this news out to us.

FASCINATING LETTER FROM A FORMER AK DOC
Dear Dr. Lebowitz; I've received your newsletter for sometime.
I just thought of you today because I have a very challenging patient who needs more work with dysbiosis than most.
After reading your recent newsletters I was thinking of trying Morinda
Supreme for the first time, and was wondering what are best dosages for chronic yeast or parasitic problems and if you think I should use it foremost on all of my anti-candida or anti-parasite programs? (ML- I typically use 1 scoop 3x daily for 2 or 3 weeks- if they have very sensitive GI tracts I may use 1 scoop twice daily and I probably use it in 90% of dysbiosis cases- sometimes as a stand alone and sometimes with other products like SF722, Undecyn, Artecin and other Thorne Research products (1-800-922-1744)
I no longer do AK, all my workups now are done via labs. I miss the AK, but doing labs has allowed me to now operate a 99% phone-based practice with very low overhead. I work with patients from all over the world, 3 days a week and am very happy.
I do miss the patient contact sometimes and think I may re-open a regular clinic in the future, but working from home on the phone is so relaxing I'm going to stick with it for now, I sold my clinic in Del Mar about a year ago.
I have always appreciated your advice since my first days in chiropractic school and would not be doing this work if not for you, so thanks again for the early teaching and inspiration, I have now helped over 5,000 patients with the information you taught me and have had an enriching and satisfying first ten years of practice.
I also just wrote a book which I will mail a copy of to you. (have a decent website now too, www.drkalish.com if you want to check it out).
All the best,
Dan Kalish DC
ASSOCIATE NEEDED IN LA
I am writing to ask for your help and to offer an opportunity for one or two of your former students.
My practice is joyfully bursting at the seams. I have my hands full already and am being called on to lecture and write in addition to managing a busy practice. Our patients, like many of yours, tend to be everyone else’s failures. They are challenging, chronic, and complex and I am desperately in need of one or two Associates who can work with patients with functional and metabolic disorders.
At the minimum, a prospective Associate needs to have:
- An AK 100 hour certificate with ongoing interest in AK and good adjusting skills
- At least basic competence with and a deep interest in clinical nutrition. If they use your protocols, I'm assured that they have at least a good foundation
- (An interest and some training in Carrick Neurology would be a plus)
- Determination, a reasonable work ethic, and passion for excellence
- Motivation to build a practice and the ability to take coaching and direction
- A California license
I am offering the right doctor a chance to become part of, and perhaps eventually become part owner of, the Applied Kinesiology Center of Los Angeles.
This includes:
- The opportunity to learn from me and share my professional resources.
- Practice-building support and ongoing professional development including new and existing patient referrals as the Associate’s skills allow. We work with children and adults with significant problems including autism, ADHD, and Tourette’s; digestive, immune, hormonal, and neurotransmitter issues; post-stroke, TBI, balance and vertigo.
- The opportunity to make a very healthy income practicing the highest standards of natural patient care, free from the constraints of “managed care”, in an attractive environment with the support of an exceptional staff
- Working with doctors from several disciplines and learning how to build a referral network
If you can think of any of your past students who might be up to the challenge and open to growing as doctors and business owners, whom you would recommend to me, please ask them to call me and send me their contact information so that I can call them. We need someone right away or sooner and have a lot to offer the right doctor.
Thank you,

FYI
There are a great many of us who read this newsletter that use the testing vials from AK test kits (1-888-303-0625) to help in our diagnosis. The composite vials have been a wonderful addition and timesaver in my practice. I do not know how I would practice without them at this point. We never came out with a composite food vial because I believe that it is virtually impossible to make one that tests accurately, as the therapeutic effect of some foods might negate the negative reaction of another food and as a result you would get a false negative test (e.g. a patient who is corn sensitive might weaken on a corn vial but not a composite with corn and 20 other foods as one of the other 19 might have something in it that lessens the corn sensitivity). As a result, we test foods separately. At this stage of research I also think metals should be tested separately. Even though there is a composite metal vial- a few of the metals in it like zinc for example can negate a positive mercury reaction. On cases where you suspect metals but the composite tests negative I encourage you to test all the metals individually. I think the other composite vials work very well except that I do test helicobacter separately (as it often needs placement over the stomach) and borrelia separately as they sometimes show when the bacteria composite is negative.
