Dear Colleagues
I hope you are well. The ICAK meeting in LA was wonderful with much great new info by some of the best physicians in the world. I encourage you all to come to next year’s meeting in Orlando. There is a lot I want to share but it will be easier to break it into 2 newsletters. In this one I will concentrate on new products and a few case histories from other physicians while in the next one (if it is done in time) I will present a research study I am doing.
NEW PRODUCTS
1. Food Toxin Kit (AK Test Kits 1-888-323-0625) Many of you have read my papers on Solanine and Methylxanthine toxicity and many have bought the vials. The papers are available on my website. One of the most important things we found was if for instance we tested solanine containing foods (i.e. the nightshades) individually or even multiple ones at the same time they very often tested negative while the alpha-solanine vial would test positive. You could ask then whether the patient really had a problem with those foods but we found when they eliminated them from their diet oftentimes they would get relief from various symptoms, some even being quite chronic and severe ones. At times even surgery was able to be avoided. One patient recently in a 5 month time period virtually reversed ankylosing spondylitis and crohns disease
These results got us thinking that this too could be the case with various other foods. I have at times had patients who on their own eliminated certain foods in their diet and found a major improvement in their health despite those foods not muscle testing positive. It appears for at least some of those foods we have to test the problematic component. As a result in conjunction with AK Test kits we have added a few vials to the methylxanthines and solanine.
The first is gliadin – this problematic component in gluten will often test positive even when wheat and gluten do not and we have been seeing excellent results. The same goes for casein (in dairy). The casein vial will test positive when milk and cheese do not always do so. Lactose, zein (the protein on corn) and ovalbumin (the protein in egg) act similarly. There is now a 10 vial kit containing these items (4 methylxanthines, solanine, casein, lactose, zein, ovalbumin and gliadin) or you can order them separately. Takesumi Supreme negates these findings in about 60% of cases and B vitamins, Reishi Supreme, Thera Supreme (especially solanines) and Body Guard Supreme often do but avoidance at least for a few months is still recommended to allow the GI tract to heal. We feel these hidden food intolerances may be a factor in patients that are prone to frequent recurrence of dysbiosis and well as many auto-immune issues. I feel finding these testing methods has been one of the most important contributions I have made in the past few years (based on patient feedback). Again in the next newsletter I will elaborate and present some research findings.
2. Camu Supreme (Supreme Nutrition Products 1-800-922-1744) Camu is a berry from a bush (Myrciaria dubia) that grows in the Amazon rainforest. What makes camu stand out is that it is the 2nd most concentrated source of vitamin C found in any fruit. It is also a significant source of antioxidants including anthocyanins, d-limonene, and catechin. Dr James Duke in his ethnobotanical database rates camu as being an effective antiviral, very useful for gingivitis and other periodontal disease, asthma, hepatitis, atherosclerosis, infertility, cataracts , migraine-cluster headaches , colds, osteoarthritis, depression, edema and Parkinson's disease. According to Sloan Kettering's' website, Camu decreases inflammatory and oxidative stress markers such as 8-hydroxy-deoxyguaosine, total reactive oxygen species, C reactive protein, IL-6, and IL-8 in smokers.
Besides vitamin C, camu contains natural beta-carotene, calcium, iron, niacin, phosphorus, riboflavin, thiamin and the amino acids valine, leucine and serine. Compared to oranges, camu on a weight for weight basis, supplies thirty times more vitamin C, and ten times as much iron. Some vitamin C content is lost after processing but not enough to make a significant difference. We will not be stating vitamin C content on the label as it can vary depending on many variables (time harvested, soil and climate conditions) but an average dose of 1 scoop will have anywhere in the range of 200mg-1000mg in synergy with all the accompanying components (this is the amount I read stated in various research articles, thus the wide range). It is hard to compare natural vitamin C in the complex of a whole food to isolated ascorbic acid but it appears you need much less when taking it as a whole food source and the exact milligrams is not as important as the synergy within it. We decided not to encapsulate it since it is more of a food. A good maintenance dose is one scoop daily but for acute and chronic conditions that need higher amounts of vitamin C, bioflavonoids and antioxidants you can do 2-3 scoops daily. A good way to take it make a smoothie daily that contains some juice, frozen berries, 1 scoop of Thera Supreme, 1 scoop of Camu Supreme and 2 caps of LuRong Supreme (opened and put into the smoothie). Camu has a pleasant sour taste (the LuRong is a little strong). If you want something simple you can just put a scoop in juice or yogurt and mix it in or just take it in water. Adding nutrient dense non-hybridized (and often wild crafted) foods to the diet can go a long in helping restore and or maintain health.
Supreme Nutrition will donate twenty five cents of each sale of Camu to the research fund of the ICAK to further research and publications of articles concerning applied kinesiology.
I test it on all patients and Camu tests positive on over 50% of them. It is especially useful in inflammation, oxidative stress and allergic conditions and anywhere vitamin C is used.
CASE HISTORIES
1. A 45 year old client had been struggling with cervical dysplasia for years. She recently had a Colposcopy and Cervical Biopsy that showed an apparent need to do a loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP). She went through the LEEP procedure which was very traumatic for her. Despite the surgery the dysplasia returned and she was scheduled for another LEEP in a month. She tested positive on the HPV vial which was blocked by Melia Supreme (1-800-922-1744) and Thorne’s Indole 3 Carbinol (1-800-228-1966). After taking the supplements for three weeks, her gynecologist took a Pap smear which the pathologist determined was negative for cervical dysplasia and HPV. She and her gynecologist were pleasantly surprised and she was happy to cancel her appointment for the LEEP.

2. Great case histories involving Solanine
51 year old female presented with bilateral arthritic hand pain, difficult to grasp objects, could no longer lift weights and she runs a gym. Solanine vial tested positive over her hands. She avoided nightshades, took Thera Supreme once daily and Lu Rong Supreme 1 twice daily. Within 4 weeks she was asymptomatic and was able to return to lifting weights within 8 weeks.
38 year old hairdresser presented with severe low back pain 10 years duration, previous laminectomy, she was working with ice strapped to her back. Tested positive to Solanine and showed a need for Basic B (Thorne). Treated with A.K. procedures. Showed fast improvement, and is now able to jog and work with only minimal discomfort. States that if she cheats with nightshades pain returns.
