Clinical Pearl
When testing people with joint inflammation for food reactions I test all the vials one at a time from the food toxin kit (AK Test Kits 1-888-323-0625). I found that in some cases you only find positive results if you test while the patient flexes and extends the involved joints (e.g. for stiff hands have the patient open and close their hands while you test over GV-21 or over the hands). I have found some things testing this way that otherwise I would have missed.
Case History
1. This is a patient I saw in March 2008 for one visit only. I am writing now as this is the first time I received any feedback on how things went.
Lydia is a 48 year old female. She presented with hives that appeared anytime it was “too hot” or “too cold” outside. She has had the condition for her whole life and no one had been able to help. She claimed foods and chemicals did not play a role. She also suffered from low energy and brain fog. She weakened on the following vials (AK Test Kits 1-888-323-0625): Helicobacter (blocked by Morinda Supreme, Supreme Nutrition 1-800-922-1744), histamine (blocked by Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate, Thorne 1-800-228-1966) as well as corn and wheat (this was prior to having developed the food toxin testing). She took the 2 supplements for 1 bottle each and she stayed off the foods for 21 days and I never saw her again until yesterday (almost 3 years later). She said she has never had any hives since. She brought her daughter in this time complaining of a lifetime of “allergies”. She had brought her to an acupuncturist, family physician and allergist before coming here. I was dying to ask her why she didn’t come here first since we did so well treating her. I can’t figure people out sometimes. For fun I retested Lydia (the mom) on food toxins and she did show on gliadin and zein despite that her hives had not returned (but her fatigue and brain fog had). She had been eating them since they didn’t cause a recurrence of the hives.
2. Ken is a 50 year old man who presented with asthma that developed a few weeks after a bout of "severe bronchitis" for which he was placed on amoxycillin. Between the asthma and the time he developed the bronchitis, he also had taken a flu shot. Of course I expected to find fungal involvement. All I found was a reaction to the ovalbumin vial and methylxanthines (AK Test Kits- Food Toxin Kit 1-888-323-0625), no fungus. He tested on Morinda Supreme. Ken’s asthmatic symptoms left but they do seem to flare back up with eating eggs.
We reported on one of Brett Morgan’s patients a few months ago who also developed sensitivity to eggs after the flu shot (which has ovalbumin in the base).

“Back in Oct I think it was, I started having symptoms of a cervical
disc with nerve pain down my left arm. I went to my chiro friend who is an excellent adjustor. I went three times and still no real change. Like a day or so after the last time I saw him, my friend came in. She said, if you want to test yourself on me, it is ok. So I did. Didn't find any organisms, but mercury came up and it was Captomer 250 (Thorne) that negated the test. So I took it. 30 minutes later, all of the pain in my arm was gone.
It kept coming back a little and I'd take more Captomer 250. It went
completely away. I was VERY happy to say the least. I can see that I was sure of the diagnosis. After all, I've been in 20 car accidents. And when the AK doctor tested me, the disc showed up. I am certain the tests were done correctly. Just goes to show you how the chemistry can have a toxic effect on the nerve. I mean, mercury is a NEURO-toxin. I'm sure I don't have to tell you but pretty cool huh?”

Dear Michael: thanks for the great research, protocols, products, and sharing via newsletter. I feel alone in the world of healthcare often because I don't work in a building with other providers and seem quite different than standard care. Your newsletter brings a sense of community to me and makes this very rewarding work seem less isolated... there are other docs out there!!!! Hoorah!
I wanted to give some feedback on products for you... the 3 major bug killers are awesome; I use them all the time... Golden Thread first, and Morinda and Melia tied for second (all Supreme Nutrition). The other bug-killers I use are really SF734 for H.Pylori, SF722 for certain tough yeasts, and Arabinex for certain viruses like warts retro viruses (all Thorne). Thank you!
I have an interesting case for you that will make you smile. I had a patient that had come in for help with headaches 2 years ago. They resolved with treatment. He presented about 6 months ago with a swollen, purple ankle and dark streaks traveling up his swollen calf to his thigh and towards his groin. I was scared and suggested that he go to the emergency room in addition to whatever I found but he chose not to. He said his foot had gotten a cut and had started hurting, swelling, and changing color over the last week. He also reported memory loss and difficulty speaking and thinking at various times. Upon testing him he seemed to show response to a mold. To make a long story short I treated him with your products, protocol, and he pulled through. I had him on a combination of Reishi Supreme, Melia Supreme, Takesumi Supreme (all Supreme Nutrition), SF722 and Basic Nutrients II (Thorne). During a couple of visits he presented with large boils on his back and thighs the size of quarters. During this whole ordeal he calmly said he preferred this approach over the hospital although due to the severity I suggested he get checked out. Two things that seemed to really make a break-through were testing the air samples from home. He lived and worked in a moldy, large warehouse. Upon realizing we were not making headway as long as he breathed that air he moved out of that environment and started really improving. The second thing that seemed to create a large improvement was getting him to start taking Coconut Oil Supreme from Mid American Marketing in large amounts. Recently he has come in for a check up and complained of a slight runny nose due to the Juniper pollen releasing now in the Dallas area. You can see he is not worried about his leg anymore. Anyway, I thought it was an interesting story of the way nutrition can work wonders, especially if you know what type of bug you are addressing!!!
