Dear Colleagues
I would like to sincerely thank all of you that called, emailed and/or prayed for me during this major health crisis I talked about in the last newsletter.
I am feeling much better and back to work on patients though just part time. I am probably capable of getting back to my old schedule but with my exercise rehab class and having to get my blood (INR) checked regularly, I prefer to scale down my schedule for now. I still have a lot of testing to do to try to figure out why it all happened (genetic? viral?). I have been researching a lot and have a lot of theories about it and also perhaps some ideas that may help myself and my patients health wise. I have some planned research over these next few months that I will keep you informed of.
I am trying to figure out my priorities. I know I have a passion to teach the protocols I do and especially pass it on to the new generation of physicians out there so I see many of my one on one seminars here at the office as well as a few bigger classes being planned for next year (God willing). I just finished a small informal class at the naturopathic college AK club in Arizona that I hope to continue this spring. I hope to do a new DVD set in 2012 as well as write a few papers for ICAK and the website. There are also tentative plans for me to teach a four hour preconference workshop at ICAK in Dallas on May 31st where I will present my protocol with emphasis on new research. The class should hopefully also be available to non ICAK members as well (though if you do AK it is a great organization to belong to and support).
Also, soon AK Test Kits should have some of the Lyme co-infection microbes available as well as quite a few other useful ones. We will announce them as soon as they come available.
New Product
Weight Kit (AK Test Kits 1-800-922-1744). I typically have not had consistent results when people come in for weight loss. Sometimes I do well and sometimes despite dietary changes and other interventions, I do not. This new kit draws together vials that are spread across other kits. The vials include hormones, enzymes, amino acids, etc. that affect metabolism, blood glucose levels, gastric emptying and appetite control. BioMagnetic Scanner (Mid American Marketing 1-800-922-1744)
I am working on a research paper on the use of our new biomagnetic scanner for screening neurolymphatic reflexes as it uncovers many previous undetected weaknesses. When available we will post it on my website. We just received feedback from one doc that purchased the scanner. He wrote:

But they are great at saving your life. If I get run over take me to the hospital!!! I had a nurse practioner come to my office today. I asked him when all his bloating and fatigue started. He said it started years ago right after he injured his knee and had to take a lot of steroids for inflammation. Due to your teaching I almost already knew the steroids have created a fungal overgrowth and told him this. The muscle testing proved it correct. He was so happy to get the exam and get a direction. Besides this he had a multitude of other complaints. I frequently read the "most common symptoms of dysbiosis" to the patients. They are relieved to hear the list because it makes them realize this is not in their heads. Many patients feel they would have the whole list except one symptom is for patients of the opposite sex (prostatitis or PMS)!!! So, thanks a lot for all your help in making me a better doc. I hope my success encourages you and helps you feel a little better your place in the world is appreciated. I hope to see you sometime for a checkup and to see the Grand Junction/Montrose area again. I love to visit the Ouray hot springs in the winter as well. I hope you get better quickly. I have a sample of a plant I would love to share with you that seems to strengthen close to 100% of patients tested. Take care!

Research on Alaria
In Japan where seaweed is consumed daily, the incidence of breast cancer in women is significantly lower than in Western women, as cited in a study published in March 2009 in the "Journal of Nutrition." In the published study, 5 grams of alaria per day led to reductions in estradiol, indicating a potential decline in breast cancer risk. Alaria Supreme (Supreme Nutrition 1-800-922-1744) is the form we use as it has been tested for heavy metals and other contamination and is harvested from a pristine area. The fucoidan in Alaria also has potential anti-cancer effects as well as possibly helping people prone to hypercoaguability.

6. Body Restoration An Owners Manual An updated and expanded version of my first book Body Mechanics published almost 30 years ago. Part 1 has a chapter on each organ/gland. Each chapter teaches basic anatomy and physiology, causes and symptoms of dysfunction, as well as simple treatments your patient can do at home to complement your treatment. Part 2 explains the role of dysbiosis, food intolerances, toxic metals, nutritional deficiencies and neurotransmitter imbalances in health.
The book is a great review for the doctor, but better yet it is a great tool to sell to your patient. It will give them a better understanding of how their body works and the causes of health and disease, as well as the rationale of why you treat the way you do. It is very pro chiropractic. Volume discounts are available should you want to sell them to your patient and a kindle edition should hopefully be available in the future. Some time later in the year my wife hopes to publish a cookbook to complement this book.
