I hope you all are well. We have completed our LA seminar and will let you know when the DVD is ready. I was very happy with how the class went and was received. I hope to see many of you at the ICAK in Dallas where I will be presenting a 4 hour preconference workshop on Thursday May 31st which will present the protocol I use on patients and a 75 minute presentation on Friday June 1st on my paper presentation as well as my new work on hypercoagulation.
In Dr Mercolas April 7th newsletter he says that ashwaghanda has been shown in animal studies to reduce amyloid plaque in Alzheimer’s patients and possibly reverse memory loss and improve cognitive ability. A few years ago on blind muscle testing we found great variability between brands of ashwagandha (very few tested well) and that is why Supreme Nutrition came out with Ashwagandha Supreme. Each new batch of raw materials is put through a quality control procedure that includes muscle testing by myself and sometimes others to assure that the batch will test good on patients. Hypercoagulation and Blood Clots
Most of you know that due to my recent pulmonary embolisms (http://www.michaellebowitzdc.com/html/ModernMedicine.html), this has been a focus of my study. I always felt there was a connection between my clots and the unnamed infection I had a month prior but other than David Bergs work, there was very little out there to support this hypothesis. The MD’s I mentioned it to were unaware of this. The theory is now starting to catch on. The April 3rd issue of Science Daily (thank you Barbara Wolf for sending me this!) stated that the most common predictor of hospitalization for venous thromboembolism -- a potentially life-threatening condition that includes both deep-vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolisms -- was recent exposure to an infection, according to the study released April 3 ahead of print in Circulation. Case History- Jeff Robinson DC- Scottsdale AZ
Patient was referred from a pulmonologist and dermatologist. Presentation was left arm/back rash which began with the diagnosis of pneumonia in June 2011 from the pulmonologist. Patient was coughing blood and eventual diagnosis was mycobacterium which was unresposive to antibiotics. X-ray revealed mass in the upper right lung which was non cancerous but unchanged since June 2011. Patient was in my office on Nov 17,2011. Follow up x-rays were scheduled for Dec 20 at which time patient would be put on "chemotherapy" meds which the patient could not afford since she had no health insurance (I believe she said they were over $800/month) and did not want to take them.
Testing revealed positive tests on the following vials (AK Test Kits 1-888-323-0625): mercury, fungus 1, fungus 2, parasites 2 internal, mixed protozoa, mixed Chlamydia, mixed Rickettsia, Gluten, Casein, Alpha-Solanine, Theobromine, Caffeine.
Patient was put on Morinda Supreme, Melia Supreme, Takesumi Supreme (Supreme Nutrition 1-800-922-1744), taken off all food toxins and put on the fungal diet recommended by Dr. Lebowitz (no refined sweetening, juice, dried fruit, vinegar, alcohol, fermented soy, cheese, yeast).
Follow up two weeks later, rash was gone and patient felt much better, more energy.
Still tested for Morinda and Takesumi, and told to stay on the diet.
Follow up on Dec 20, 2011 with pulmonologist appointment revealed no mass on xray. Patient felt great said she wants to stay on diet indefinitely. Very greatful.

Plan ahead- write off your trip to Hawaii?
My wife and I met on Kauai in 1980 and lived for 3+ years in Hawaii (Kauai and the Big Island) at that time. We moved back to the mainland after that to be nearer to family and to escape the vog from Kilauea volcano. It seems ever since we moved back to the mainland we have thought about moving back to Hawaii but did not for a number of reasons. At this stage in our lives we have decided to split our time between our home here on the mainland and our recently bought condo in Hawaii.
While in Hawaii I may not have an official office but want to offer you some possible options to learn our work and get treated (and write off your vacation in Hawaii). We will be pretty flexible but here are some options:
1) Just like in CO, we can offer our one on one classes to teach my protocol and/or any other area of AK that you would like to cover (assuming I feel expert enough in it- for instance I recently taught a class on my approach to strictly musculo-skeletal cases). This can be an all day class and include treatment for you and your family. For those of you that have never done AK we can start with the basics. Cost is $300 for a 6 hour class
2) A second option (better to write the trip off) would be a 6-10 hour class spread over a 5-6 day period done in the late afternoon each day except Friday and Saturday. That way you can sightsee or go to the beach or hike during the day and have a short class each late afternoon. Class will be $300-$500 (total for all) depending on number of hours.
We also can offer an option where people can stay in our spare bedroom (like a bed and breakfast) if they would like or they could stay in a nearby hotel. We have one double bed. We can discuss pricing if you like. It will probably be $150/night with discounts for longer stays and you can share our kitchen.
3) We also have another option where you (or perhaps a difficult patient) can come for a week for daily treatment and meals (for this option we'd have to feel the patient would fit into our life well for a week as our condo is not large) and it would be more intensive. Call for pricing.
So if you'd like a wonderful vacation that you can write off and learn contact us and we can discuss dates and cost.
You'd probably be on your own during the day to explore (you might want to rent a car, though public transportation isn't too bad) and on various days you might be able to tag along with us to the local farmers markets, a hike, etc. We are within a 10-15 minute walk to Waikiki shopping and beaches, Ala Moana Mall and Ala Moana Beach and Magic Island.
We are a 15 minute drive to hiking in the rainforest or climbing Diamond Head, etc.
We will be taking people from November through early March.
We recommend booking dates with for these classes/treatments with lots of advance notice especially if you are contemplating staying with us. If staying at a hotel it should be more flexible.

5. Body Restoration An Owners Manual An updated and expanded version of my first book Body Mechanics published almost 30 years ago. Part 1 has a chapter on each organ/gland. Each chapter teaches basic anatomy and physiology, causes and symptoms of dysfunction, as well as simple treatments your patient can do at home to complement your treatment. Part 2 explains the role of dysbiosis, food intolerances, toxic metals, nutritional deficiencies and neurotransmitter imbalances in health.
The book is a great review for the doctor, but better yet it is a great tool to sell to your patient. It will give them a better understanding of how their body works and the causes of health and disease, as well as the rationale of why you treat the way you do. It is very pro chiropractic. Volume discounts are available should you want to sell them to your patient and a kindle edition should hopefully be available in the future. Some time later in the year my wife hopes to publish a cookbook to complement this book.
