Dear Colleagues;

We hope you are well. August was insanely busy. We (my son Noah and I) taught in Seattle and Atlanta. Atlanta was a sold out class with a great group of docs and an exceptional group of students from Life. It is so wonderful to see a vibrant, smart, next generation of young AKers to eventually carry the torch. We taped the Seattle class. There were a few glitches we will try to iron out this month. Hopefully by sometime next month it will be available on both DVD and vimeo. My son Noah who has lived and breathed these techniques since he was little has become a great teaching partner and has even taught by himself on a few occasions.

We are also in the process of opening up our office together in Tacoma, WA. The office should be open this week. If you know anyone who would like to see either one of us they can call 253-302-3131. Soon there will be online scheduling at www.drnoahlebowitz.com. We are still available to do one on one classes here in Tacoma. Noah can do them throughout the year while I will still be wintering on Oahu and can teach and see patients there.

The ICAK meeting was in Las Vegas end of July where close to 200 DC’s and students (a few MD’s and ND’s too) came to hear the best new AK research and schmooze. It was a great conference. With all the amazing docs out there I was humbled to receive the Research Paper of the Year Award as well as the Chairman’s Award.

CASE STUDIES

CASE HISTORY SUBMITTED BY RICH SPINA DC- PHOENIX, AZ

In February, a 74 year old male presented with mild digestive symptoms (belching, gas), some night sweats and fatigue. Also he is diabetic. He as diagnosed with a blocked valve. He could not walk a block without being winded and having to rest.
On testing he reacted to mixed bacteria 1 and fungus 1 vials (AK Test Kits 970-201-7406). He also showed on solanine and soy. I placed him on an anti-fungal diet (no refined sweetening, juice dried fruit, vinegar, alcohol, fermented soy, cheese, and yeast) and the following supplements: Morinda Supreme (3 TID) , Golden Thread Supreme (Supreme Nutrition 1 TID), Magnesium Citrate (Thorne, 1 TID or as per bowel tolerance), Calcium Citrate (Thorne, 1 TID) and Pure Homocysteine Factors ( Pure Encapsulations 1 BID).
Rechecked in three weeks. Patient (as well as his wife) stated that within a few days he was able to walk around the block and now walks one to two miles daily without getting winded. He still reacted to solanine and soy which must have snuck into his diet during the three-week period.
The patient will continue with the diet. He tested well for the following supplements this time: Olive Leaf Supreme (1 TID), Alaria Supreme (1 TID), Rosemary Supreme (1 TID) Calcium Citrate and Magnesium Citrate, Homocysteine Factors (1 BID), Innate Response Formula Flora 50-14 (probiotic, one daily with a meal). He is extremely pleased (as I was) that he responded so quickly.

MORE ON SCUTELLARIA SUPREME

Last month Supreme Nutrition introduced Scutellaria Supreme- another great antimicrobial. Some friends have shared some other great research on it.

http://www.bbc.com/news/health-36702215 (use in patients with autoimmune disorders). Also, Dr Andrew Rostenberg shared an article from BMC Complementary and Alternative medicine where researchers found Scutellaria Baicalensis to be a source of naturally occurring serotonin and melatonin. This may thus expand our use of Scutellaria Supreme or when we supplement we may want to include a nighttime dose.

TIDBIT

Because the value of the British pound is down, test kits from AK test kits are at their lowest price in quite some time. This may be a great time to add kits to your office. See what is available at http://michaellebowitzdc.com/html/LebowitzAllUSA.pdf Truthfully we make very little on these kits but just want to make them available. With anything from overseas I always worry about future availability (FDA, EU regulations, etc.) but am happy we can provide them to the AK community. Orders can now be made directly online but you will need a username and password to access the website. If you do not have an account call Cynthia at 970 201-7406 or email her with you name, email address, phone and address to aktestkits@aol.com

3. Test Kits for Dr. Lebowitz protocol - Call Cynthia at AK Test Kits 970 201-7406 or see our website http://www.michaellebowitzdc.com for more details. These kits will greatly simplify and speed up your testing making you more efficient and accurate in patient assessment. These are “diagnostic kits”. 4. Body Restoration An Owners Manual - An updated and expanded version of my first book Body Mechanics published almost 30 years ago. Part 1 has a chapter on each organ/gland. Each chapter teaches basic anatomy and physiology, causes and symptoms of dysfunction, as well as simple treatments your patient can do at home to complement your treatment. Part 2 explains the role of dysbiosis, food intolerances, toxic metals, nutritional deficiencies and neurotransmitter imbalances in health. The book is a great review for the doctor, but better yet it is a great tool to recommend to your patient. It will give them a better understanding of how their body works and the causes of health and disease, as well as the rationale of why you treat the way you do. It is very pro chiropractic. It is available for $1.99 on kindle at http://www.amazon.com/Body-Restoration-Owners-Manual-ebook/dp/B0050653C4/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1353354004&sr=1-1 or in paperback http://www.amazon.com/body-restoration-Dr-Michael-Lebowitz/dp/146100294X/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1432251114&sr=8-2&keywords=michael+lebowitz+kapadia

5. Body Restoration Cookbook - This companion volume to the above book was written by Cynthia Lebowitz and is now available free online (donations accepted). A wonderful tool for your patients as it contains almost 100 recipes- most without gluten, dairy, nightshades, etc. http://www.bodyrestorationanownersmanual.com/html/Cookbook.html

6. God’s Preventative Medicine- my latest book is now available in paperback. It explains how the Levitical Priests dealt with fungal dysbiosis both preventatively and treatment wise as well as the reasons behind some of the other health laws of the Torah. It is a short easy to understand book and fascinating for the student of health and the Bible http://www.amazon.com/Gods-Preventative-Medicine-Discoveries-Instructions/dp/150892824X/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1432251151&sr=1-2
