Dear Colleagues;
We hope you had wonderful holidays. We are busy preparing for the upcoming ICAK Winter meeting on Oahu Jan 13-15. It is still not too late to come and you do not have to be a member (do need to be a practicing physician). Noah and I are planning a spring seminar in Denver and a fall one in Chicago. We are also planning to present at the ICAK summer meeting in Scottsdale. Noah will be teaching at the international ICAK meeting in Montreal and I will be teaching a solo seminar in Bologna, Italy in October. Upcoming newsletters will have more info.

NEW YOUTUBES
Noah and I recently spoke at a wellness seminar here on Maui. We did 2 talks- one on fungi and one on what the vitamin companies don’t tell you. Having worked in the vitamin industry for 30+ years you learn things that most physicians (even nutritionally oriented ones) aren’t aware of, as well as many of the people in the companies themselves. I think this one is a necessity for anyone using nutrition in their practice.

CASE HISTORIES
#1- Dr MICHAEL LEBOWITZ
Janice, a 76 year old woman flew into see me for 2 appointments (over 2 days). She was suffering with IBS for many years and had been recently diagnosed with SIBO (methane test). She complained of gas, bloating, nausea, aching over her stomach, all averaging 7 on a 10 scale. An endoscopy showed a hiatal hernia and she often had 4 bowel movements in the morning. She also suffered from asthma for 60+ years and was on both a steroid inhaler and albuterol. She was gluten and nightshade free with a low carb diet but still suffered. On oral history she also mentioned severe fatigue and brain fog. She had also been on Wellbutrin for many years. All her symptoms were exacerbated when the temperature exceeded 81 degrees.
1st day findings: + vials from Lebowitz protocol Kit (970-201-7406)- Bacteria 3, Bartonella, (she has 3 cats), Rickettsia, Worms, Fungus 1, Parasite 2, Zein, Albumin, Tomato, and from Food Kit A sardines. Her inhalers, antibiotics (for SIBO) and the probiotics she was on caused muscle inhibition. Breath holding was 22 seconds increased to 30 seconds after an AK hiatal hernia correction. We prescribed Artemesia, Dan Shen and Uva Ursi (all Supreme Nutrition Products 800-922-1744) as well as P5P and L-Tyrosine from Thorne.
The 2nd day there were no additional findings except for the addition of Melia Supreme. We told her to report back. Coming back for a recheck soon after was not financially viable and there was no one to refer her to back home.
This was her email:

"It’s been almost a month since my visit with you and I’m happy to report I’m feeling so much better on so many levels.

I ordered the Biogest from Thorne (we advised her to get it as it tested well but we didn’t have any as it is rare we prescribe it) and have been taking it for a couple of weeks and my digestion and elimination are so much better. I’ve taken all the Melia, Artemesia, and Uva Ursi and still have L-Tyrosine, Dan Shen and Pyridoxal 5’-Phosphate left. I’m assuming I should continue taking those until finished? And should I continue the 16 ounces and jump in the morning (follow up instructions for Hiatal hernia)? Should I stay with the dietary restrictions, and if so, for how long?

In the past two weeks I’ve only had one or two episodes of bloating. One followed a meal of a hamburger and a side salad. I seem to have a problem digesting beef. Not belching or farting for the most part. I’ve been sticking to the dietary restrictions religiously. I have more energy (yay!) and actually have some enthusiasm for my life and am able to accomplish daily goals. I’ve been swimming 2 or 3 times a week. I could be sleeping better, but it’s not digestive issues that are keeping me awake. Headaches are mostly gone and rarely need to use asthma inhalers. I have had some issues with allergies. One of my cats who is usually an outside cat, has feline leukemia and I’ve been keeping her in the house with a litter box in the bathroom, and I think the litter was causing itchy nose and throat. I switched brands and it got a bit better. One night I had an explosive allergy attack with loud and repeated sneezing that kept me awake every hour or so. That was the night it was also very rainy rainy (she lives in an extremely wet subtropical area) and that usually stirs up mold on the screens and causes problems, so hard to tell what was affecting me. Was bloated also. Next day fine.

In summation, I’m doing pretty great. My therapist could not believe the change in my energy level and how I looked, as the previous 2 sessions (I see her every 2 or 3 weeks)."
Dr L comments- We are very pleased with her progress. Of course it would be ideal to be able to follow up.

#2 -9 year old male patient of Michael Lebowitz DC
History given by his mother: "Joe began to have eczema as a 2 year old but was not bothered by it (it was not severe). On 6/17/17 he had a cold and had severe asthma exacerbation. We went to the Dr and they prescribed prednisone and albuterol. After this first occurrence Joe rarely struggled. He would have asthma every few months. We did different labs to see what the issue may be and it always came up as sensitivity to dust (9/10). No food allergies listed. He had never struggled with his digestion. Around December 2019 Joe began to have generally poor health. His asthma increased and he struggled so much with allergies. Joe began to need allergy medication to keep him from using his albuterol. Slowly over the months he needed both allergy pills and albuterol a few times per week. His allergies have become increasingly severe and I also have noticed his cheeks breaking out. We have noticed his cheeks become inflamed when his allergies are bad and asthma or overall inflammation is present in his body. Early 2020 our family had covid and we did great, but a week later we had another sickness that shifted Joe’s health in the worst way. Sickness have become scary because his asthma gets so severe. New issues after this sickness in 2020 included: Heavy weight on chest (described as a rubber band wrapped around his chest but not asthma, Not relieved at all by asthma meds), difficult to wear backpack etc., sleep disruptions, heart pain, pain in various places in the stomach/back region, constipation, fatigue, unable to walk up a hill. Severe allergies. Becoming sick often (more than I have ever seen him). Joe rarely got sick in the past and the last 2 years he has been sick monthly. Joe had a strange issue (I have the same issue and my mother as well)…he was not developing fevers any longer when sick. To my surprise a few months ago he had his first fever (believe it or not I was excited…because it concerned me his body was not fighting properly). I have been using probiotics to try to help his digestion to no avail. However my uncle had a yogurt recipe that I really believe shifted Joe’s digestion in a positive direction. To my heartbreak he is on daily asthma meds (steroidal) because he ended up in the ER 2 months ago and even albuterol wasn’t working. We have worked so hard to keep albuterol out of his system but it has been extremely challenging. We have seen western medical physicians, chiropractors, acupuncturists, etc. I (Joe’s mother) have a long line for family health issues (rheumatoid arthritis: Maternal grandfather, Mother, Aunt, 2 cousins. Psoriasis: myself and brother. Alopecia: myself. Psoriatic Arthritis: Brother, Vitiligo: both brothers. My husband George’s father has asthma and type 2 diabetes. I have very bad allergies as well as some similar health conditions to Joe. I only share this to shed light on Joe’s situation. Date of original condition: 6/7/2017 (asthma diagnosis) and 11/1/2019 (General poor health and heaviness of chest I want to see him thriving. He has been through so much the last few years and is such a good-hearted kid. He avoids gluten and dairy."
Dr L- On exam we found the following from the Lebowitz protocol kit (970-201-7406): Fungus 2 (only microbe surprisingly), Beef, Casein, Zein, Peanuts. From food kit A he also seemed to have a generalized sensitivity to fish. He needed Camu, Vidanga, and Melia (all Supreme Nutrition Products 1-800-922-1744). We scheduled him for a 2 week follow-up.
Right before the recheck we received this email from his mom-Hey Dr Lebowitz. We are noticing an improvement in Landon’s cheeks (the bumps he was having), eczema on his face though not severe still present, no albuterol needed in 2 weeks.
2nd appt showed only a need for Molybdenum and Magnesium Citramate.
He continues to do well.

1 Lebowitz Protocol June 2022 Seminar on Vimeo - Professionally filmed in 4K in the office

This class teaches an effective, easy, and fast way to "diagnose" and treat dysbiosis (fungal, bacterial, parasitic, viral, Lyme), food reactions, lectin sensitivities, metal and chemical toxicity/sensitivity, coagulation issues, organ dysfunction, EMF issues, and much more. It is well suited to both the newcomer to the Lebowitz protocol as well as physicians who have been following Dr. Lebowitz's work for many years.

A basic ability to perform manual muscle testing is necessary to utilize these techniques. Correcting the above mentioned issues can help alleviate many symptoms, including various gastro-intestinal issues, dermatological and respiratory problems, fatigue, brain fog, headaches, inflammatory conditions, fibromyalgia, auto-immune issues, neurological symptoms, chronic musculoskeletal conditions, etc.

New techniques to help eliminate false negatives, which are very common in muscle testing, are discussed and demonstrated as well as false positives, which often occur frequently in supplement testing. The class comes with a full, easy to follow, set of notes and Drs. Lebowitz is always easily accessible to answer questions you may have after you have started implementing the material.

This is the most in-depth, as well as the highest quality, seminar we have ever recorded.

In addition to the seminar itself we have a 15 minute recording of Dr. Michael Lebowitz taking a new patient history. We also have a 25 minute video on what to expect on a follow-up visit and how to approach continued care.

2. Personal Seminars with Dr. Lebowitz: Dr. Lebowitz teaches seminars to one or two doctors at a time at his office on Maui. This is probably the best way to learn our protocols with a personalized, hands on experience. Cost is $400 per physician and the class runs 9AM-4PM. For more info or to schedule call us at 970-623-9565. Noah Lebowitz DC is also available to teach the class (and sometimes you get us both).

3. Test Kits for Dr. Lebowitz protocol - Call Cynthia at AK Test Kits 970 201-7406 or see our website http://www.michaellebowitzdc.com for more details. These kits will greatly simplify and speed up your testing making you more efficient and accurate in patient assessment. These are “diagnostic kits”. Supplement kits are ordered directly from Supreme Nutrition 1-800-922-1744. In our protocol we typically use the protocol kit, biofilm kit and food kit A. Other kits as needed.

4. Body Restoration An Owners Manual - An updated and expanded version of my first book Body Mechanics published almost 30 years ago. Part 1 has a chapter on each organ/gland. Each chapter teaches basic anatomy and physiology, causes and symptoms of dysfunction, as well as simple treatments your patient can do at home to complement your treatment. Part 2 explains the role of dysbiosis, food intolerances, toxic metals, nutritional deficiencies and neurotransmitter imbalances in health. The book is a great review for the doctor, but better yet it is a great tool to recommend to your patient. It will give them a better understanding of how their body works and the causes of health and disease, as well as the rationale of why you treat the way you do. It is very pro chiropractic. It is available for $1.99 on kindle at https://www.amazon.com/Body-Restoration-Owners-Manual-ebook/dp/B0050653C4/

5. Body Restoration Cookbook - This companion volume to the above book was written by Cynthia Lebowitz and is now available free online (donations accepted). A wonderful tool for your patients as it contains almost 100 recipes- most without gluten, dairy, nightshades, etc. Body Restoration Cookbook

6. God’s Preventative Medicine- It explains how the Levitical Priests dealt with fungal dysbiosis both preventatively and treatment wise as well as the reasons behind some of the other health laws of the Torah. It is a short easy to understand book and fascinating for the student of health and the Bible God's Preventative Medicine
