Dear Colleagues;

I hope you all are well. We encourage you all to take our April 23rd Denver seminar. We will be teaching our whole protocol plus giving attendees access to our 2022 Vimeo. This will be the first time we will be discussing 4 new food toxins we have added to our protocol. For more info and to sign up click https://michaellebowitzdc.com/html/2023Seminars/index.html.

For those that can’t make it to Denver our vimeo class is a great resource to learn our work as is our one on one class on Maui. Noah will also be teaching in London May 14th https://michaellebowitzdc.com/html/2023Seminars/London.html. Our next USA class after Denver will probably be in the fall, most likely in Chicago.

Supreme is coming out with 2 new products this month. The first is bacopa for which we have had a demand for quite some time but finding a suitable sample that passed our kinesiological (as well as microbial and toxin) tests was challenging.

New Product: Bacopa Supreme (shop.supremenutritionalproducts.com) Key Indications: memory & focus, brain Health and thyroid

Bacopa Monniera is a small plant that grows in moist, damp areas throughout Asia and has been widely used in Ayurvedic medicine at least as far back as the 6th century. One of its common names is water hyssop and the whole plant is used medicinally. As with most herbs it has many uses. Most common include increasing cognitive ability, memory, nerve tonic, cardiotonic, diuretic, in asthma, bronchitis, mental imbalances, depression, anxiety, and epilepsy. It contains over a dozen active constituents, the most well-known being luteolin, beta- sitosterol, and d-mannitol. The constituents responsible for Bacopa’s cognitive effects are bacosides A and B (1).

One double blinded human study (2) showed it to significantly improve learning and memory while also decreasing anxiety. A similar study in seniors observed that taking 300 mg of Bacopa monnieri daily significantly improved the speed of processing visual information, learning rate, and memory, compared with the placebo treatment (3). A third study on 54 seniors showed increased memory and decreased anxiety and depression compared to placebo (4). Another study elicited a similar reaction to lorazepam (5).

It also can act as a strong antioxidant (6) especially in the antioxidant activity in the hippocampus, frontal cortex, and striatum (7). Bacopa aids in the repair of damaged neurons (8)

A double blinded study done on 36 children with ADHD showed improvement in memory as well as paired as- sociate learning tasks. This improvement was maintained at least 4 months following cessation of bacopa (9). Another ADHD study with 31 ADHD children showed Bacopa reduced symptoms such as restlessness, poor self-control, inattention, and impulsivity in 85% of the children (10). In animal studies high doses of Bacopa have raised levels of T4 without affecting T3 levels (11) making it possibly useful in hypothyroidism.

Bacopa has been noted in animal models to decrease the toxicity of morphine, possibly making it useful in patients going off of morphine based medications (12).

There appear to be no contraindications (with the possible exception being it can be contraindicated if taking amitriptyline) and dosages can safely be given at 5-10 grams daily though we typically start at 1-2 caps 3x/day.

No studies have been done on pregnancy and bacopa so we recommend avoidance until studies are conducted.

1 Lebowitz Protocol June 2022 Seminar on Vimeo - Professionally filmed in 4K in the office
This class teaches an effective, easy, and fast way to "diagnose" and treat dysbiosis (fungal, bacterial, parasitic, viral, Lyme), food reactions, lectin sensitivities, metal and chemical toxicity/sensitivity, coagulation issues, organ dysfunction, EMF issues, and much more. It is well suited to both the newcomer to the Lebowitz protocol as well as physicians who have been following Dr. Lebowitz's work for many years.
http://michaellebowitzdc.com/html/seminar.html

A basic ability to perform manual muscle testing is necessary to utilize these techniques. Correcting the above mentioned issues can help alleviate many symptoms, including various gastro-intestinal issues, dermatological and respiratory problems, fatigue, brain fog, headaches, inflammatory conditions, fibromyalgia, auto-immune issues, neurological symptoms, chronic musculoskeletal conditions, etc.

New techniques to help eliminate false negatives, which are very common in muscle testing, are discussed and demonstrated as well as false positives, which often occur frequently in supplement testing. The class comes with a full, easy to follow, set of notes and Drs. Lebowitz is always easily accessible to answer questions you may have after you have started implementing the material.

This is the most in-depth, as well as the highest quality, seminar we have ever recorded.
In addition to the seminar itself we have a 15 minute recording of Dr. Michael Lebowitz taking a new patient history. We also have a 25 minute video on what to expect on a follow-up visit and how to approach continued care.

2. Personal Seminars with Dr. Lebowitz: Dr. Lebowitz teaches seminars to one or two doctors at a time at his office on Maui. This is probably the best way to learn our protocols with a personalized, hands on experience. To schedule one of these classes you need to either have watched the above vimeo or already taken a class with Dr. Lebowitz over the past 5 years. Cost depends on who long the session lasts (usually 3 to 5 hours depending on your needs). Fee is $150 per hour of class. For more info or to schedule call us at 970-623-9565. Noah Lebowitz DC is also available to teach the class (and sometimes you get us both).

3. Lebowitz protocol kit- Call Cynthia at AK Test Kits 970 201-7406 or see our website http://www.michaellebowitzdc.com for more details. These kits will greatly simplify and speed up your testing making you more efficient and accurate in patient assessment. These are “diagnostic kits”. Supplement kits are ordered directly from Supreme Nutrition 1-800-922-1744. With the majority of our patients, this is the only kit we use.

4. Body Restoration An Owners Manual - An updated and expanded version of my first book Body Mechanics published almost 30 years ago. Part 1 has a chapter on each organ/gland. Each chapter teaches basic anatomy and physiology, causes and symptoms of dysfunction, as well as simple treatments your patient can do at home to complement your treatment. Part 2 explains the role of dysbiosis, food intolerances, toxic metals, nutritional deficiencies and neurotransmitter imbalances in health. The book is a great review for the doctor, but better yet it is a great tool to recommend to your patient. It will give them a better understanding of how their body works and the causes of health and disease, as well as the rationale of why you treat the way you do. It is very pro chiropractic. It is available for $1.99 on kindle at https://www.amazon.com/Body-Restoration-Owners-Manual-ebook/dp/B0050653C4/

5. Body Restoration Cookbook - This companion volume to the above book was written by Cynthia Lebowitz and is now available free online (donations accepted). A wonderful tool for your patients as it contains almost 100 recipes- most without gluten, dairy, nightshades, etc. Body Restoration Cookbook

6. God’s Preventative Medicine- It explains how the Levitical Priests dealt with fungal dysbiosis, biofilms, etc. both preventatively and treatment wise as well as the reasons behind some of the other health laws of the Torah. $1.99 on kindle. It is a short easy to understand book and fascinating for the student of health and the Bible God's Preventative Medicine
