Case Study Submitted by Brandon Daniels DC O’Fallon IL
A 15-year-old male presented with the chief complaint of Tonic-Clonic/Grand Mal Seizures. The seizures began 8 years earlier. They began as silent seizures and progressed to Tonic-Clonic Seizures. There was a period that these absent seizures are suspected of decreasing from over 100 per day to only a few per month. However, they eventually returned and progressed to the aforementioned Tonic-Clonic Seizures that would occur up to 8x per day at the time care was begun.
Using the Lebowitz Protocol, the following vials were positive from the Protocol Kit (https://michaellebowitzdc.com/html/ProtocolKit.html) : Bartonella, Biofilms, Chlamydia, Fungus 2, Fungus 3, H. Pylori, Mycotoxins, Parasite 1, Protozoa, Virus 2, Worm, Oxalic Acids, Solanines, Zein, Theophylline, Peanut, Rice, Tissue Plasminogen Activator, Glyphosate, Pesticides, Arsenic, Beryllium, Gadolinium, Nickel, Zirconium, Estradiol. The following support was positive: Body Guard Supreme, Tulsi Supreme (supreme products).
The patient was instructed to avoid the applicable offenders and to begin Body Guard and Tulsi. His next appointment was six weeks later due to scheduling difficulties. At his next appointment, his mother gladly relayed he had one seizure in the initial two weeks following his last appointment. Additionally, she was exuberant that he has been seizure free for the last four weeks. There was initial difficulty implementing dietary restrictions due to a divorced household. Mom would follow the recommendations, but Dad would not. I received a phone call at around this 2–3-week mark, and after discussing the importance of his restrictions, Dad was more receptive to following recommendations.
Currently, he is approaching the 5-month seizure-free mark. We have more work to do, but his prognosis is very good. Of additional importance for his care plan was the use of additional homeopathy support, glutathione support, and cerebral microvascular support. We also utilized Quantum Neurology and NeuroEmotional Technique in some of the following appointments.
There were several interesting aspects to this case. One is the parenting and the complicating factors that differences in opinion can have on a minor’s care. Another interesting note for this case is that he had been working with the top neurologist in the area for years prior to seeking a different option.
When we began care, Mom asked if I was willing to work with the neurologist and explain some of the findings that we had discovered. I answered, “Of course”. Mom spoke with the neurologist, whom had no interest in co-treating or even understanding my approach. The patient’s mother was berated for her choice to go outside of traditional allopathic care, and routinely told to disregard all of my recommendations. Luckily, Mom understood the significance of our findings and continued as instructed.
The take-away is this: The work we do has immense value and can completely change the trajectory of one’s life. When there is an opportunity to bridge the gap between the allopathic and conservative treatment paradigms, I suggest taking it. No harm comes from collaboration and understanding one-another. But when that attempt is rejected, smile, maintain your professionalism, and continue your good work.
DrL’s note- the amount of findings on the first visit were pretty overwhelming though on occasion I do find that many. To do labs would have been 100’s of dollars and not covered as many bases. The results were outstanding after just the first visit and also that five months have gone by and he is still symptom free.
