Dear Colleagues;
I hope you all are well. We had a great seminar in Atlanta last month as well as Noah just finishing his Nashville class Oct 6th. We do not have any seminars scheduled again until next spring (time and place TBD). In the meantime, if you want to learn our protocols, you can take a personal class here on Maui (might want to combine it with attending the ICAK winter meeting Presidents’ weekend on Kauai). Also our vimeo class is available https://michaellebowitzdc.com/html/seminar.html
Cryptolepis, the newest Supreme Nutrition product, is becoming one of my favorite antimicrobials and we are working on a few new supplements that will be coming out within the months to come.
This newsletter will be short. I have a few patients flying in that will take a lot of my focus and also being in the midst of the fall Jewish holidays life is busy.
If you have a case history using our protocols please feel free to submit it. It will reach about 5,000 practitioners and can help them out and also be a source of referrals for you.
Case history- submitted by Michael Lebowitz DC
Alissa is a 3-year-old that suffered from severe head to toe eczema basically her whole life. There were a few times with very temporary partial clearing when put on a liver cleansing protocol but it would immediately come back when stopped. She and her mother flew in to see me from a neighboring island. The lesions were red and bled at times and itched continuously. We had her bring with her air samples from their house.
We basically found a fungal issue including inhibition on testing the air samples. We found sensitivities to the following foods: Dairy, gluten, most nuts, citrus, corn, goitrogens (the only ones she ate were cruciferous vegetables). She avoided the foods and took an age-appropriate dose of the following herbs: Elderberry and Scutellaria Tinctures and Melia (all Supreme Nutrition). We also had her change her pillow and toothbrush to play it safe.
Over 2 weeks’ time there was no change. On a re-exam she still showed on her air (remediation with ozonation, essential oil diffusion, etc. was not effective). She was very strict on the diet. We were unable to get her to tolerate her air despite desensitization procedures, etc. They were renting and were able to relatively easily change apartments. Within 2 weeks of moving (and sticking to the diet) she started to clear and by 4 weeks was totally clear and remains so. Her mother wrote “Aloha Michael: Her skin is all cleared!! After moving out of the house, eliminating everything she can’t have and giving her the supplements, it is all gone! Just wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for your practice and your ways. Don’t know where I would be without you! Here are some pics. She will be reintroducing the foods one at a time to make sure none are reactive (AK testing of foods you have been avoiding often yield false negatives). If she lived on island we might have had her reintroduce them all at once and then tested her on them 2 days later.
The vast majority of cases do not have to move homes. Over the 43 years I have been in practice, there have only been a handful. When we started teaching about mold issues back in the 1980s, we were one of the first and now it is much more mainstream. Many docs though just chase the mycotoxins but, if they do not clear the internal fungus issues (from inhaling the fungus and having it take root inside the body) they are only treating the downstream symptoms so things clear much slower or never clear. There are times we have to treat the mycotoxins afterwards though oftentimes the body can do it on its own if it doesn’t have the subclinical fungal infection to deal with.
The fungal “infections” are typically discerned using the vials inside our protocol kits (fungus 1, 2, and 3 and mixed candida) as well as mold plates from Immunolytics where we culture air from their environment as well as saliva as occasionally the vials will show a false negative reading. We also do a petri dish on the spouse. That way we can compare the petri dishes and if the same species are growing in the house and spouse, treat accordingly.
My favorite supplements for fungal issues are Melia and Scutellaria Supreme but we go by our test results and may alternatively find Golden Thread, Cryptolepis, Vidanga, Black Walnut, Artemesia, Olive Leaf etc. That is why testing is critical. If you just give a product with a mix of 10-20 herbs it almost never works because maybe only 2 or 3 are appropriate and the rest are not, so there isn’t enough of the correct ones to make an impact. Also taking strong antimicrobial herbs you do not need can cause symptoms that can range from GI to headaches, fatigue, etc. that the doctor then often misinterprets as a herxheimer reaction while in reality it is a supplement reaction. Typically, we use one or two herbs for a fungal issue. That way we can easily give therapeutic doses and avoid the above.
We will be traveling in early November so the newsletter might be a little late again.
1 Lebowitz Protocol June 2022 Seminar on Vimeo - Professionally filmed in 4K in the office
This class teaches an effective, easy, and fast way to "diagnose" and treat dysbiosis (fungal, bacterial, parasitic, viral, Lyme), food reactions, lectin sensitivities, metal and chemical toxicity/sensitivity, coagulation issues, organ dysfunction, EMF issues, and much more. It is well suited to both the newcomer to the Lebowitz protocol as well as physicians who have been following Dr. Lebowitz's work for many years.

A basic ability to perform manual muscle testing is necessary to utilize these techniques. Correcting the above mentioned issues can help alleviate many symptoms, including various gastro-intestinal issues, dermatological and respiratory problems, fatigue, brain fog, headaches, inflammatory conditions, fibromyalgia, auto-immune issues, neurological symptoms, chronic musculoskeletal conditions, etc.
New techniques to help eliminate false negatives, which are very common in muscle testing, are discussed and demonstrated as well as false positives, which often occur frequently in supplement testing. The class comes with a full, easy to follow, set of notes and Drs. Lebowitz is always easily accessible to answer questions you may have after you have started implementing the material.
This is the most in-depth, as well as the highest quality, seminar we have ever recorded.
In addition to the seminar itself we have a 15 minute recording of Dr. Michael Lebowitz taking a new patient history. We also have a 25 minute video on what to expect on a follow-up visit and how to approach continued care.
2. Personal Seminars with Dr. Lebowitz: Dr. Lebowitz teaches seminars to one or two doctors at a time at his office on Maui. This is probably the best way to learn our protocols with a personalized, hands on experience. To schedule one of these classes you need to either have watched the above vimeo or already taken a class with Dr. Lebowitz over the past 5 years. Cost depends on who long the session lasts (usually 3 to 5 hours depending on your needs). Fee is $150 per hour of class. For more info or to schedule call us at 970-623-9565. Noah Lebowitz DC is also available to teach the class (and sometimes you get us both).
3. Lebowitz protocol kit- Call Cynthia at AK Test Kits 970 201-7406 or see our website http://www.michaellebowitzdc.com for more details. These kits will greatly simplify and speed up your testing making you more efficient and accurate in patient assessment. These are “diagnostic kits”. Supplement kits are ordered directly from Supreme Nutrition 1-800-922-1744. With the majority of our patients, this is the only kit we use.
4. Body Restoration An Owners Manual - An updated and expanded version of my first book Body Mechanics published almost 30 years ago. Part 1 has a chapter on each organ/gland. Each chapter teaches basic anatomy and physiology, causes and symptoms of dysfunction, as well as simple treatments your patient can do at home to complement your treatment. Part 2 explains the role of dysbiosis, food intolerances, toxic metals, nutritional deficiencies and neurotransmitter imbalances in health. The book is a great review for the doctor, but better yet it is a great tool to recommend to your patient. It will give them a better understanding of how their body works and the causes of health and disease, as well as the rationale of why you treat the way you do. It is very pro chiropractic. It is available for $1.99 on kindle at https://www.amazon.com/Body-Restoration-Owners-Manual-ebook/dp/B0050653C4/
5. Body Restoration Cookbook - This companion volume to the above book was written by Cynthia Lebowitz and is now available free online (donations accepted). A wonderful tool for your patients as it contains almost 100 recipes- most without gluten, dairy, nightshades, etc. Body Restoration Cookbook
6. God’s Preventative Medicine- It explains how the Levitical Priests dealt with fungal dysbiosis, biofilms, etc. both preventatively and treatment wise as well as the reasons behind some of the other health laws of the Torah. $1.99 on kindle. It is a short easy to understand book and fascinating for the student of health and the Bible God's Preventative Medicine
