Dear Colleagues, I hope you are doing well. For those of you that have not done so, and would be open to it, PLEASE send us your email address so we can send future issues of the newsletter by email. It will help simplify our lives.
In the last newsletter, we talked about Eyelights. First, I would like to apologize for the error in the phone number. The correct number is 877-717-3937. There has been a little confusion over the protocol I use to select lens color and flashing option. First, I do not use the neurological tests to determine to options. This is not to say my way is better or more valid, but I have received excellent results doing the following:
1) First, I order the Eyelights with the interchangeable lens package.
2) I hold each lens individually in front of the patient's eyes to see which one negates positive findings and strengthens a weak G-2 muscle. Typically we find just one lens color.
3) Then, placing a lens that tested neutral (neither strengthened or weakened) in the frames we see which flash pattern negates positive findings and strengthens a weak G-2 muscle.
4) We then combine the strengthening lens color and pattern.
5) I re-evaluate every 3-4 weeks to see if the color or pattern has changed. I have seen both change occasionally, though often they do not.
Two interesting side effects I have seen in a number of patients is they sweat easier and sex drive can dramatically increase (Peter - you could do a great infomercial). I refer you to the last newsletter for the rest of my observations.
One patient of mine with Parkinson's has found a significant diminishing of tremors using the Eyelights.
CASE HISTORIES
1. Teri, a 22 year-old woman presented with severe heart palpitations and fatigue for many months duration. On her 1st visit we found sensitivities to wheat and rice and needed to supplement Biomins II and Basic B Complex. Over the next few weeks there was no improvement. On her next visit we found rice and grape sensitivities. We also checked for heavy metals, which we did not check for on the 1st visit. We found lead and cadmium and supplemented Thiocid and SF710 (due to severe PMS). Within a weak, Teri became symptom free and remains so.
2. Frank is a 42 year-old man that suffered from cluster headaches for 20 years. He also had a long history of recreational drugs and was unresponsive to pharmaceuticals and chiropractic. We found fungal involvement, sensitivities to dairy, peanuts, grapefruit and nightshades. We supplemented with SF722 and Basic Nutrients III. Frank stayed symptom free for 11 months (he stayed on a maintenance dose of Basic B Complex) and then they recurred. We found the fungus problem and nightshade sensitivity recurred. We put him on SF722 and PicMins and he remains headache free a year later. He comes in periodically for a maintenance check, as he never wants to be debilitated again.
CLINICAL TIDBITS
I'd like to encourage you all who do the protocols we teach - that on your chronic patients, it is advisable to recheck for dysbiosis and commonly eaten foods each visit. It is not uncommon for those people to get dysbiosis back periodically and to get new food sensitivities on occasion. If these are not found and treated, your other treatments will not yield optimal results. The same holds true for metals - after they first test negative there is no guarantee they will not show up again in the future. The few minutes it takes to screen for these things is well worth the results. We also test a lot of chronic musculo-skeletal patients that have been unresponsive to good chiropractic and good AK. In these cases, treating dysbiosis, foods and metals usually yields wonderful results. Sometimes that is enough in itself, though sometimes it is necessary to add just basic AK (find the weak muscles and treat with origin-insertion and neuro-lymphatic work). Clearing the dysbiosis makes the body much more responsive to basic AK and the combination works wonders. Oftentimes a food sensitivity is causing chronic musculo-skeletal problems and testing foods over the chronic area can prove very fruitful.
We are still very involved with teaching doctors our protocols here at our home office. Dates are fairly flexible, so if interested feel free to call or email us for scheduling. I am sure Jay and I will be teaching together by spring, though we haven't worked out time and place yet.
Last note: I don't usually do this but I encourage you all to join the American Preventative Medical Organization (1 800-230-APMA). They are the only national advisory organization specifically focused on supporting alternative medicine and dietary supplements. This is a worthy organization and is supported by companies such as Thorne Research, Douglas Labs, Metagenics, Standard Process, Vitamin Research Products, etc. Please give them a call for an info/membership pack.
Why Join The American Preventive Medical Association?
• We are the only national advocacy organization focused specifically on federal legislation and regulations that affect your ability to use complementary and alternative therapies.
• We have a solid track record of success in Congress, federal agencies, and the courts: *• We successfully sued the FDA, forcing them to abide by the First Amendment and define a standard for approving health claims on dietary supplements; *• We spearheaded the coalition that drafted and lobbied successfully for passage of legislation to promote the Office of Alternative Medicine at the National Institutes of Health, to the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine at NIH; *• We lobbied successfully for important changes in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996; the Food Quality Protection Act of 1997; and FDA Reform in 1997; *• We played a significant role in Grafting and achieving passage of the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act which passed in 1994; *• We are suing the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for violating states' rights with its policy of prohibiting the medicinal use of marijuana in those states which have legalized such use; and *• We supported Shari Lieberman, Ph.D., C.N.S., a well-respected nutritionist, in her successful lawsuit against the American Dietetic Association, which had suspended her registered dietitian credential solely because of views she expressed in her magazine columns.
• We organize lobbying days in Washington, D.C. each year so that our members can talk with their elected officials about issues and legislation important to their health care future
• We sponsor legal seminars for practitioners who need to know how to negotiate the maze of federal and state laws governing everything from advertising to insurance reimbursement while providing complementary and alternative therapies to their patients While some just complain that things need to change, we look for ways to make that change happen. We work diligently on federal legislation and regulations that will have a dramatic impact on consumers' health care freedom, and on practitioners' abilities to offer a more complete range of therapies to their patients, without the fear of censure or recrimination.
By joining APMA, you can be sure that you have a voice in the nation's capital. You know that we will be working on your behalf, reasserting your right to make your own health care choices, and expanding your ability to access life-saving and disease-preventing therapies that are used by people all over the world.
Will you join us?

A knowledge of basic muscle testing is helpful. The seminar is geared to both the beginning and advanced practitioner and will be a balanced blend of both academics and techniques that you can apply right away. For those of you that have been to previous seminars this will have all the essential basic and advanced techniques as well as enough new information to make it worthwhile to attend.
