We have finalized our plans for our April 2001 NY-La Guardia Seminar. See enclosed brochure for the details and registration information. We do not get to the East Coast very often so we encourage you to attend. It will be suited to both the beginning and advanced practitioner. I will be co-teaching with Jay Wilson DC of Boulder, CO. We have been co-teaching for a number of years and Jay's expertise in lab work and physiology complement greatly my teaching of technique.
PRODUCT NEWS
1. Venocap (Thorne 1 800-228-1966) - I have been using this product for a number of years and have had good clinical response in treating both hemorroids and varicose veins. This product contains the following herbs that have been shown to improve venous integrity - gotu kola, horse chestnut, witch hazel, butchers broom as well as the flavonoid diosmin and OPC's. Our dose has been two caps daily. Of course in these cases we also check liver function, food sensitivities, nutrient status, etc and treat accordingly.
2. Myco-Immune (Thorne 1 800-228-1966) - is a combination of 7 mushroom products: Reishi, Cordyceps, Shiitake, Maitake, Coreolus versicolor, Tremella, and Split Gills. These have been shown to enhance the immune response and are useful in patients with immune deficiency symptoms including chronic and acute viral conditions. These products are rich in polysaccharides and proteoglycans including beta glucans. Increased tumor necrosis factor, increased macrophage activity, increased natural killer (NK) cell activity, improved resistance to infection, increased IgG and IgM response, stimulation of interleukens and interferon, anti-tumor activity and enhanced humoral and cellular immune functions is a partial list of effects of these potent mushrooms.
Dose is 1 or 2 dropperfuls t.i.d. As with all products, we test versus a weak G-2 muscle or over the suspect areas or to see if it blocks positive therapy localization as we rely on positive neurological feedback from the patient as well as the clinical indications.

2. Clinical Indications of Thorne Research Products: This handout, over 20 pages long, has both academic and clinical observations on well over 100 products I use in my office. Approximately 90% of the products I use are by Thorne Research. Reasons are given. This handout is free.
3. Personal Seminars with Dr. Lebowitz: Dr. Lebowitz teaches seminars to one or two doctors at a time in his home/office in Grand Junction, CO. It is approximately 4 miles from the airport serviced by United, Delta and Continental Airlines. Seminars run from 9:00-4:00. These classes are tailored to meet your individual needs and can be as basic or advanced as you would like. Treatment for you and/or your family can be included in the teaching. Lunch is provided and this is a great place to vacation all times of the year with nearby attractions in both Colorado and Utah. Colorado continuing education hours can be provided.
