Dear Colleagues:
Greetings from Colorado where we have gotten a break from the high temperatures and drought. It is interesting how for more than a decade we have been preaching about the affects of mold in houses, on health, and fungal dysbiosis and now it is catching on in the media. CNN, Newsweek and many others have had major stories on mold and lawyers are getting into the act - with lawsuits against landlords of moldy houses, etc. In all of the cases of fungal dysbiosis we have that are not clearing quickly and easily with our techniques (and that includes candida), we always test air samples from homes, work places, car, etc. For instance, in one family recently, we found that their sofa (that had been stored in a damp basement) as well as some of the children's stuffed animals and comforters had mold infestation, as well as their car. They were able to get the mold out of the comforter, washing it with borax and water but the sofa and stuffed animals had to go. After that their fungal problems easily resolved with treatment. To treat the car we had them run and ozonator while the re-circulating air was on and that resolved the issue.
You also need to check sexual partners because fungus is easily passed back and forth. When we lived in WV over a decade ago we had a moldy home and I had a massive collection of wonderful antiquarian books - including hundreds of natural health books from the 1700's and 1800's (from such authors as John Harvey Kellogg, Russell Trall, Sylvester Graham, Andrew Still, etc.). I had to sell my collection (which gave us enough money to move to CO) because of the mold in the books - which improved my health greatly. I even had to get rid of my books from chiropractic college that had gotten moldy in West Virginia.
Here in Colorado we have a high water table under our home and for 3 months a year water comes into our basement and crawl space. If we had known that we would not have bought the house. Between running a sump pump, an ozonator, and 2 dehumidifiers we have kept it mold free. It has been a frustrating yet fairly successful experience.
We have had quite a few one on one doctor seminars this summer here at our home/office (see page 3 for details). I always enjoy these as I can delve into issues I cannot teach in large groups as well as personalize it to meet the needs of the attending physician. Occasionally I get to reap the benefits of an excellent treatment by the attending doctor too, and I often get an opportunity to treat the doctor and their family.
CASE HISTORY
This is a very simple fungal case that responded very well. I thought I'd present it due to our focus on fungus this issue.
Debbie is a 43-year-old massage therapist. She came in suffering from fatigue, a chronic yeast infection (8 year duration), muscle cramps in her feet, chronic headaches and a 35-pound weight gain over the past year. Our testing showed evidence of fungal and viral involvement, sensitivity to dairy, as well as multiple vitamin and mineral deficiencies. We supplemented with SF722, Arabinex, Basic Nutrients 1, and L-Tyrosine and put her on an appropriate diet. She returned 4 weeks later. Her weight had dropped 15 pounds, her energy was back to normal and she had had no headaches and no muscle cramps. She also reported that she now needs one hour less sleep daily and 2 days into the treatment 2 planters warts on her foot that she had treated unsuccessfully for one year simply fell off.
We have kept her on Basic Nutrients 1 and L-Tyrosine and added Cal-Mag Citramate. She continues to do well. Being a very successful massage therapist she has started sending many patients our way.
Nadine is a 16-year-old home-schooled high school student who presented with chronic sinusitis aggravated by a grass allergy as well as fatigue, which was less in the winter. We found evidence of a fungal problem and sensitivity to dairy and eggs. We supplemented with SF722 and Biomins II.
Nadine them became asymptomatic and remained so for approximately 2 1/2 years when the symptoms returned after a trip to California. We found a return of the fungal problem and have retreated with the same diet and supplements.
It is not unusual to see fungal problems return in patients after traveling to an area of high humidity in which case retreating brings a quick cessation of symptoms.
Some patients after you correct a fungal problem never have it return. Others due to periodic mold in their environment, traveling to moldy areas, taking antibiotics, etc. have problems that can recur multiple times a year.
Usually after you "fixed" it initially they can easily tell when it returns and they quickly return to your office for successful re-treatment. Some people due to genetics, biochemical glitches, hi stress lifestyles, etc. are much more prone to getting a recurrence. A diet with little or no refined sweetening, lots of outdoor exercise and getting adequate sleep are all preventative measures to some degree.

CORRECTING CHRONIC HEALTH PROBLEMS
DENVER COLORADO VIDEO/DVD SUNDAY, MAY 5, 2002
Dear Colleagues:
I am pleased to announce the availability of the seminar I co-taught with Jay Wilson DC at the Red Lion Hotel, Denver, CO on Sunday, May 5, 2002.
This video or DVD will teach the physician a simple to apply, effective protocol to treat patients with chronic fatigue, allergies, chemical sensitivities, intestinal dysbiosis (fungal, bacterial, parasitic and viral infections), food sensitivities, altered intestinal permeability, toxic metal problems, adrenal and endocrine dysfunction, lymphatic dysfunction, nutritional imbalances, and chronic subluxations. This will help people with most chronic diseases including headaches, arthritis, auto-immune diseases, gastrointestinal problems, chronic pain, depression, memory lapses and many other problems. A knowledge of basic muscle testing is helpful. The seminar is geared to both the beginning and advanced practitioner and will be a balanced blend of both academics and techniques that you can apply right away. For those of you that have been to previous seminars this will have all the essential basic and advanced techniques as well as enough new information (academic and clinical) to make it worthwhile to watch including finding "underlying layers" quickly and easily that often elude our testing. Easy, accurate screening techniques and desensitizations are taught along with the highest quality nutritional products and the pros and cons of all available lab screenings. There is no hype and no expensive instruments necessary to apply these techniques.
Dr. Lebowitz is a DC practicing in Grand Junction, CO specializing in chronically allergic and fatigued patients. He is a researcher in AK, has written two books, numerous articles and has been the recipient of two awards from ICAK. His techniques are used by hundreds of doctors worldwide.
Jay Wilson, DC, has taught postgraduate courses nationally in clinical nutrition, dysbiosis, herbal medicine and clinical kinesiology. His teaching integrates the most recent advances in natural therapeutics and laboratory diagnosis with applied kinesiology techniques. He maintains a practice specializing in chronically ill patients in Boulder, CO.
