Dear Colleagues:

I hope you all are doing well. We have been having a good summer so far. I wanted to copy a short email we recently received. We typically average a dozen or more weekly of these particular type, so this is just an example.

“We are in need of a Dr. in the Ann Arbor, MI area 48104 that does the same protocol testing that Dr. Rick Mentzer uses. Dr. Mentzer has his practice in Port Charlotte, FL.

My husband was having intestinal trouble that had not been diagnosed for 2 years… going to the local doctor here in MI and also going to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. Having several tests and still no help… until Dr. Mentzer tested him and was able to give him some help immediately!

Larry needs follow-up testing at this time and we are back in MI until November. Please forward the name of a Dr.(s) in our area. Thank you for your time.”

We are happy to get these encouraging messages and fill these requests. Dr. Mentzer learned our protocols by video, and had the patient get a hold of us. If you get a referral from a DC you do not know, often it is something like this where we made the referral but the patient gives the name of the doctor they were seeing or that treated someone they knew, etc. Unfortunately there are some areas where we do not have any practitioners, so if you have benefited from our protocols, tell your DC friends to buy our video or attend a seminar. In the above request, we had just had a doctor from near Ann Arbor attend a one on one seminar at our house, so the timing was perfect.

CASE HISTORIES

  1. Mary is a 77 year old female referred by her daughter who we had helped with a dermatological condition in 2000. Mary’s major complaint was that for the last 20 years she suffered from cold hands and feet all the time and even had to wear socks to bed in the summer. She also had fatigue and brain fog. We found no signs of dysbiosis on testing but she did test positive on the following foods: pecans, peanuts, garlic, carob, and sunflower seeds. We desensitized her to these and had her avoid them for 21 days. We supplemented with L-Tyrosine and Iso-phos (both Thorne Research 1-800-228-1966). She called today and said that for the last month she has been asymptomatic and no

longer wears socks to bed. She was very happy. I love cases like this though it is hard to say if it was the Tyrosine that helped via stimulating the thyroid or avoidance and desensitization to a food that was causing vasoconstriction or decreased metabolism as a symptom.

  1. Annie is a 39 year old female who presented in May 2004 with her main complaints being fatigue and headaches. The headaches were only on the weekend (prompting me to ask specific questions about weekend habits etc that yielded no useful information). She weakened on the composite parasite vial by Test Kit Consultants (1-970-243-0477) as well as the composite Industrial and Environmental Chemicals, whole wheat, and tomato. Supplement wise, she needed Artecin, Basic Nutrients I and L-Tyrosine (all Thorne). We desensitized her. After a week she became headache free and remains so and has normal energy.
  2. Corina is a 27 year old female suffering from recurrent yeast infections. Otherwise she was basically asymptomatic. She had previously been on Diflucan. On testing she weakened on the fungus and virus vials, along with garlic, egg, and rice (Test Kit Consultants). We supplemented with SF722 (which we also had her partner take), Arabinex, and Citramins II (all Thorne). She has now gone 7 months without a yeast infection (she hasn’t had this much time without one in 5 years).

These are all very simple cases that responded very quickly and easily. I think the key to getting quick success (of course not all cases will be fast and easy) is contingent on a few factors. One is being thorough by testing all the composite vials as well as foods each visit. The same goes for testing all the appropriate supplements. The desensitization process is critical regardless of which one you use. I think the quality of the testing vials we use (accuracy wise) as well as the purity of the supplements and the testing procedures themselves helps us get results quicker and more consistently that many other techniques.

I once worked for a DC who felt that getting people better very quickly was not an asset because it will decrease your patient load. As David Leaf mentioned on a recent ICAK audio tape and we agree, that is not the case. You will be bombarded with referrals and be as busy as you choose to be.

For Your Information

The next seminar Dr. Jay Wilson and I teach together will probably not be until spring of 2005.If you have a location you would like to see it at, we are open to your input. We both feel the 2003 video we produced is still up to date and a new seminar is not warranted yet. For those of you wanting more personalized instruction, I am still offering personal seminars here at the office (see page 3 of this newsletter).

Thorne will be discontinuing Salx Wolfii, which is a remedy we occasionally use for toxic metals though not nearly as often as Captomer, Thiocid, and Glutathione (Thorne). When their supplies run out, if you still need it you can call Tom Resz at 970-856-7376. This herb grows on our nearby Grand Mesa at about 10,000 feet elevation and it has proven quite useful in some cases.

Remember to send us your email address so you can receive this letter by email instead of snail mail. Thanks.
