Dear Colleagues
I hope you are all well. I went back down to baseball spring training the last week of March to check my patient who is in the Kansas City Royals organization. He was hit in the occiput during the 2005 season with a 90+ mph fastball in his one and only major league baseball at bat (for the Chicago Cubs). Since then he has been struggling in the minors- never able to recover his pre-injury form- batting only about .200 while previously he was a .300 hitter. On our first visit we had corrected muscle inhibition that occurred in different eye positions (including the one he is in when the pitch comes) as well as many “normal” AK muscle weaknesses. We had supplemented with MediClear, Magnesium Citramate, Basic Nutrients V, Basic B Complex (all Thorne Research 1-800-228-1966) and a fatty acid supplement. The next visit was a week later and things had held very well and supplements were stable. Just a few minor adjustments were needed. The last treatment was 3 weeks later. I was very impressed that the structural work had held very well though there were a few other muscles that needed working on. Supplementally we needed to change Magnesium Citramate to Cal-Mag Citramate, Basic B Complex to Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate and add L-Carnitine and L-Tyrosine (Thorne). Both these last two are very common needs in professional athletes. Tyrosine needs especially increase as the season progresses from the adrenal stress, irregular sleeping hours and frequent plane rides. Alan had a great spring and the team was very impressed with him. He stole 11 bases and hit and fielded well. He is starting this season in AA but feels he once again has a future in baseball. He has fallen in love with MediClear as it greatly helps his energy. He notices when he misses a day of taking it. It can be difficult to optimally dose pro-athletes as often their needs are much higher than an average person thus it is hard to know how high to go.
I am also working on a few competitive swimmers (they have definitely gotten faster) and skeet shooters (their scores have improved) as well as competitive skiers, but baseball is a passion of mine and it is a lot of fun for me to work on players.
I was at a minor league Oakland A’s game recently, next to the dugout and there was a first round draft pick talking to another player about a guy he sees who “rubs muscles and taps places” and increases performance and range of motion and it
turned out to be a colleague and student of mine which was pretty neat. Despite the efforts of conventional medicine and trainers to stifle us- we are making slow, steady headway on an individual level with players as I know many of you see and treat pro athletes and have equally good results.
Food Testing with AK
Most of us test for food intolerances/sensitivities with AK. I use the vials from AK Test Kits (1-888-323-0625) which work very well. Even so, food testing with AK has it limitations. Most of us know that if someone is hypoglycemic at the time of testing they will strengthen on sugar as it will very temporarily help the problem (just like someone with a headache will often strengthen on aspirin). Ingesting a food you are sensitive to can at times be stimulating to the body and as a result a patient may strengthen instead of weaken on a problem food (though they will also strengthen on a therapeutic food) just like the hypoglycemic strengthening on sugar. In other cases someone like a tobacco smoker may not weaken on tobacco until they are off of it for a few days or sometimes not until they are off of it for a few days and then re-introduce it. It appears their body is so use to/addicted to it that it doesn’t recognize its deleterious effects until after an avoidance period. This can also happen with foods on occasion. I would hazard a guess that we pick up about 90% of food intolerances/sensitivities on straight forward testing of vials (seeing if a strong muscle weakens). If we want to increase our accuracy we need to be a little more creative. Of course treating dysbiosis, metals and giving the correct supplements may “fix” those other undetected 10% by correcting the underlying causes so oftentimes “digging deeper” becomes unnecessary.
Feedback on BodyGuard Supreme (1-800-922-1744)
Most of you know that BodyGuard Supreme is a great product to treat electro-magnetic field sensitivities, liver congestion, supplement and fatty acid intolerances, pineal issues etc. My friend Dr. Bea Knight-Johnson has found another use as you can see in her email..
Hi Michael: I don't know if you have tried the BodyGuardSupreme (1-800-922-1744) for heart conditions, but I have and, in about 1/2 the cases, it seems to negate a positive heart reflex. I use the old Versendaal heart reflex to test the heart along with some AK reflexes/muscles as a secondary, and BodyGuardSupreme negates both. And of course, it's great for brain/pineal. I also love the Morinda Supreme and am starting to reach for that test vial as a first choice in most dysbiosis cases and many times it works instead of Articin, SF 734, Phytogen etc, but usually
not in addition to them. It's becoming a stand alone product in my repertoire. Hope you are well and thanks for all your continuing research. Bea
Feedback on Morinda Supreme for allergies (1-800-922-1744)
I recently received this email from Scott Monk DC in Denver
Michael: For 15 or more years I have had significant reactions to dust and dogs. I started trying Morinda Supreme for myself after a patient with allergies did so well while taking it. As you know I travel to Florida once a month. Down there my parents had a dog that I was allergic to and so I would sneeze and have itchy eyes at night when I spent time in their home. I tried the Morinda Supreme (it was only for about one week), and on my next trip I was no longer sneezing. I evaluated my reactions for several months and the allergies did not return even when I played with their dog (I never even used to pet it). Since then (January 06) we have owned a Golden Retriever. If, when I wrestle with the dog, I begin to get some skin reactions or other allergic reactions, I simple resume the Morinda and they disappear.

Upcoming Seminar
Dr. Jay Wilson and I are tentatively planning a seminar probably in June. It may be relatively short notice due to our schedules and it may be either in Denver or Grand Junction. The main goal will be to get a great DVD but we hope many of you can attend too. I will send out a notice as soon as we have dates.
Of course I am still teaching one on one seminars here at my Grand Junction office. The main difference between the two classes is that in the ones with Dr Wilson he shares a wealth of academic knowledge concerning the physiology, rationale, etc. behind what we do. This is invaluable for the beginner in our protocols and useful, of course, for the advanced student too. For those of you that want an almost solely hands on experience that can go off on any tangent and feel you already know the academics and basic work, the one on one at my office may be better. The one on one is also better for the doctor who doesn’t feel confident in their ability to muscle test accurately. It also includes a treatment for the doctor and/or family member. Often doctors first buy our DVD and then if needed follow up with a one on one. The seminar with Dr. Wilson should have many updates since our previous class. I personally learn a lot from always listening to Jay.
1.DVD- Correcting Chronic Health Problems 2005: This DVD seminar, approximately 6 hours long will teach the physician a simple to apply, effective protocol to treat patients with chronic fatigue, allergies, chemical sensitivities, intestinal dysbiosis, (fungal, bacterial, parasitic, and viral infections), food sensitivities, altered intestinal permeability, toxic metal problems, endocrine dysfunction, nutritional imbalances, chronic pain and subluxations. Knowledge of basic muscle testing is helpful. A complete protocol is taught that you can use to treat even the most chronic patients. The video is suited for both the novice and the advanced practitioners in our work and has many changes from previous videos. A complete set of advanced notes accompanies the video. This video supersedes our previous ones. Price is $250 and can be paid by check to our office or paypal to noach2343@aol.com. There is a paypal link on our website to pay also.
2. Clinical Indications of Thorne Research Products: This handout has both academic and clinical observations on well over 100 products I use in my office. Approximately 90% of the products I use are by Thorne Research. Reasons are given. This handout is free and is available in written form or on CD-Rom. You may wither call our office for a copy or download it from our website: www.michaellebowitzdc.com as you can download it.
3. Personal Seminars with Dr. Lebowitz: Dr. Lebowitz teaches seminars to one or two doctors at a time in his home/office in Grand Junction, CO. These classes are tailored to meet your individual needs and can be as basic or advanced as you would like. Treatment for you and/or your family can be included in the teaching. Colorado continuing education hours can be provided. Best days are Sundays, Mondays or Wednesdays. Call to schedule exact dates. Cost is $300 for one physician or $500 for 2 physicians coming together.
4. Test Kits for Dr. Lebowitz protocol. Call AK Test Kits at 1-888-323-0625 or see our website http://www.michaellebowitzdc.com for more details. Info is available on CD-Rom. These new kits will greatly simplify and speed up your testing making you more efficient and accurate in patient assessment.
