I hope you all are well. Beginning in April I will be seeing patients and teaching my protocol to physicians (read the end of the newsletter for details) in Scottsdale AZ. NEW PRODUCTS
1) Woad Supreme (Supreme Nutrition 1-800-922-1744)- Woad Supreme™ is the powdered root of Isatis tinctoria. Isatis has a history of use in China for 2,000+ years. Many years ago I (Dr. Lebowitz) helped a company I used to be associated with make an encapsulated Isatis product and it has been used successfully by many practitioners over the past 15 years. Recently that company has discontinued quite a few products and Isatis is one of them. To meet the demand of many practitioners wanting a dependable Isatis product, we have sourced a supply of high quality Isatis that did very well on our kinesiological evaluation. We are also making a 90 cap bottle as opposed to the previous 60 caps, and increased the mg. per cap from 350 to approximately 560. As always with Supreme there are no added fillers, binders, flow agents or anything else.
Isatis, commonly known as woad, has the following indications:
a) It is a broad spectrum antimicrobial. We find it most effective as an antiviral for both acute (including severe respiratory conditions) and chronic problems. It has also been shown to have antibacterial and antiparasitic effects, including against leptospirosis. Isatis is also immunostimulatory. In China, woad (isatis) is used to treat such conditions as pneumonia, UTI, sinusitis, tonsillitis, influenza and even acute hepatitis. They also brew it into a tea to use topically on rosacea, herpes, shingles, and impetigo.
b) Woad is strongly inhibitory against the COX-2 enzyme thus exhibiting strong anti-inflammatory activity.
c) In China it has been found to be useful in helping some cancer patients, especially those with leukemia (it is obviously not a standalone cancer treatment).
d) Animals studies suggest it has protective effects against certain forms of radiation and may be a good detoxifier in general.
Supreme Nutrition attempts to supply the physician with a large array of broad spectrum antimicrobials with long histories of use in different cultures. Isatis is an excellent addition to this line and should be considered in any patient with subclinical or overt infection. Those of you who use applied kinesiology, or some type of electrodermal screening, should test it along with other antimicrobials on your patients.
Possible uses: viral, parasitic and bacterial issues, inflammatory conditions, radiation exposure
Contraindications:
1) Do not use if patient is on prescription blood thinners.
2) Safety during breastfeeding and pregnancy has not been studied so you may want to avoid prescribing it during these times.
Dose:
1-2 caps, 3x/day
We did not call it Isatis Supreme as another company uses that name for a herbal combination product that contains Isatis.
2) New Test Kits (AK Test Kits 970-201-7406) AK Test Kits is now carrying the following kits. Though they are not part of the protocol I teach (or routinely use), we felt these kits could be quite useful to many practitioners. e) Test Kit boxes- we now carry flat test kit boxes that fit 63 vials. I personally use bullet cases from the sporting goods store but some physicians prefer flat boxes where access to specific individual vials may be easier in some cases.
Fall Plans
Beginning in late October I am considering travelling to some cities to give seminars to smaller groups of physicians say 10-20 at a time. CASE HISTORIES
1. Submitted by Sun Mok Kim DC- Grand Junction, CO
Emma is a 33 year old woman who had not had her period for 8 months, following a miscarriage. She checked her hormone levels and she did other tests with her gynecologist. The M.D. could not find any abnormality. She said the M.D. finally suggested surgery but, the patient didn't know exactly what type. Her friend was Dr. Lebowitz previous patient (now my patient) and the friend referred her to me. I have had some good success in the past with secondary amenorrhea. I found the problem is often related to some mineral deficiency or amino acid deficiency ( I got the information from Dr. Lebowitz' Body Restoration book). So, I followed Dr. Lebowitz basic protocol and also focused on her nutrition deficiencies. I found lots of postitive findings on manual muscle testing. . Mixed Bacteria 1, Mixed Parasite, Mixed Protozoa, and H.Pylori were positive (vials from AK test kits 1-970-201-7406). Golden Thread Supreme, Vitalguard Supreme, and Melia Supreme (Supreme Nutrition 1-800-922-1744) negated the positive findings and also strengthened a weak indicator muscle. I also found some heavy metals on manual muscle testing: titanium, gold, and lead which were negated by Takesumi Supreme. Basic Nutrient III (Thorne) also strengthened a weak indicator muscle. She didn't come back for her follow up appointment after two weeks as I had recommended. I heard good news from her friend. Nine days after her appointment with me her cycle started. She now has a regular menstrual cycle and she even referred her father to my office. I'm really happy to hear that.

Last summer I saw a 21 year old student who was home from college. Well over two years ago he got a bad tick bite and confirmed Lyme's from the bite. Ever since the infection he has had flu-like symptoms exactly every two weeks for about two days each time. Basically he would wake up every other Wednesday feeling very lethargic with achy joints. For the next 36-48 hours he pretty much would just lie in bed until he felt well again, only to be hit with the same symptoms again two weeks later. During my assessment, he tested for heavy metals as well as biofilms. I gave him two supplements - selenium for the metal toxicity and BFB-2 (Supreme Nutrition) for the biofilm issue. For his follow-up a week later he was still testing for both so I increased the doses of both supplements. The following week he no longer tested for more of either, and he had by then gone past his typical two week period where he would feel sick. I saw him a month later before he went back to school and none of his symptoms returned. I had him finish off the supplements, (just one bottle of each). I just recently talked to his brother who told me that he has yet to have his flu-like symptoms return; for the past five months he's been 100% symptom free. I use several of the Supreme Nutrition Products but the BFB-1 and BFB-2 have quickly become my most used products in the office.

5. Body Restoration An Owners Manual - An updated and expanded version of my first book Body Mechanics published almost 30 years ago. Part 1 has a chapter on each organ/gland. Each chapter teaches basic anatomy and physiology, causes and symptoms of dysfunction, as well as simple treatments your patient can do at home to complement your treatment. Part 2 explains the role of dysbiosis, food intolerances, toxic metals, nutritional deficiencies and neurotransmitter imbalances in health. The book is a great review for the doctor, but better yet it is a great tool to recommend to your patient. It will give them a better understanding of how their body works and the causes of health and disease, as well as the rationale of why you treat the way you do. It is very pro chiropractic.
