TREATING THE COMPLEX PATIENT
Dr. Michael Lebowitz
Sunday, April 26, 2015
Hilton San Francisco Airport Bayfront

We are happy to announce a seminar taught by Michael Lebowitz DC this spring. The West Coast Seminar will be on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at the Hilton San Francisco Airport Bayfront Hotel in Burlingame, CA 94010 (tel:650-340-8500). This is Dr. Lebowitz first Bay Area seminar in 20+ years.

This class will teach our whole protocol in its most updated version. You will learn quick and easy ways to test for and treat:

You will find using these protocols will help many chronic conditions in patients including but not limited to fatigue, fibromyalgia, arthritis, most gastro-intestinal issues, dermatological conditions, asthma, headaches of all types, chronic musculoskeletal conditions, etc. You will be able to expand the conditions you treat and get consistent reproducible results. The class is suited for both the beginning and advanced practitioner. These techniques have been successful at increasing doctor’s referrals as well give the physician a broader understanding of chronic health issues.

Dr. Lebowitz has been teaching advanced AK seminars since 1987, has written 4 books, over 60 research papers and has won 4 awards from the International College of Applied Kinesiology for his papers and work. He is also secretary of the International College of Applied Kinesiology as well the program chair for the annual meeting.
Skills in basic muscle testing (how to discern a strong muscle from a weak one) are the only prerequisites. This class will also count towards ICAK diplomate hours.

Free airport shuttle is available. For those driving the fee for parking will be $4/day. There is a restaurant on site and one restaurants and hotels in close proximity.

You can register by either going to http://www.michaellebowitzdc.com/html/SF2015/index.html or calling us at 970 201-7406. Cost is $250. The class will run 9AM-5PM, Sunday. There will be much time for work-shopping as it is important to us that all who attend leave with a good understanding of the techniques and how to apply them. We encourage early registrations. We do not anticipate it being sold out but our NYC one was and we had to turn a few doctors away.

Discounts for students and assistants are available (half price) – you must call the above number to register with the discount –it is not available online. The seminar will be very similar to the 2014 one we did in NYC and Phoenix (available on DVD) though we will feature at least one new technique that will make you rethink how you prescribe nutritional products with AK and will make you a more effective prescriber.

Testimonials

From Jeff McCloskey DC

I have had several patients who were accustomed to taking another brand of supplements (Standard Process Colinsonia Root and Cataplex ACP) for hemorrhoids, bruising, and other vascular/capillary fragility issues. With the first patient who asked for something to help with hemorrhoids, I said I would like to test him and see what supplement strengthened (made a weak muscle in the clear strong). I found Reishi Supreme and asked him to try it. On the next visit, they reported a substantial improvement. Since then, I have put 4 or 5 patients on Reishi Supreme for complaints of hemorrhoids, constant bruising and similar issues and have gotten positive feedback each time.

Technique ideas from Matt Colman DC

Food testing utilizing Dr. Lebowitz's protocol.

This procedure grew out of noticing the effect of a large dose of BFB 1 and BFB2 (Supreme Nutrition Products 1-800-922-1744) topically. What was observed was sensitivity to foods not found using vials of foods alone under the South Pole of a magnet over GV-20.

The procedure involves simply using both the food and either BFB 1 or 2 and the food vials together over GV-20. I observed a large number of food sensitivities or food sensitivities not previously revealed. This procedure is done regardless of the biofilm vial testing positive. It also does not require the patient to use BFB1/2, but simply to reveal food sensitivities. I do this part of the procedure at the very end of Dr. Lebowitz's protocol.

If biofilm tests negative but the BFB 1/2 vial test positive I do have the patient use whichever one tests positive or both if they both strengthen a weak indicator muscle.

If neither strengthen but one weakens and one doesn't weaken a strong indicator muscle, I use that one for my testing

If both weaken a strong indicator muscle I distance test to see which one I use for testing but do not put BFB in the protocol.

Whichever weakens the closest is the one to use.

Case History

I had a 28 year old female patient who came in mainly for an intention tremor she had been experiencing for a number of years. She was referred by her AK doc as well as her professor at school. She also suffered from fatigue. We found dysbiosis and toxic metals (mainly mercury) as well as a deficiency of B12. We gave her takesumi supreme, morinda supreme (Supreme Nutrition 1-800-922-1744) and methylcobalamin. All her symptoms cleared. I was out of state when she ran out of supplements so I told her to refill them to play it safe. The tremor returned. When we got back to town we saw her again (this was months later). She claimed the methylcobalamin looked different (color of the substance) with this new batch- apparently the company changed raw material suppliers (companies rarely update test samples when suppliers change though supreme nutrition does every time a new batch of raw materials is utilized). The sample in my test kit from this company still strengthened though the bottle she had been taking did not. Personally I was doubtful that changing the methylcobalamin would make a difference. I had her go to the local vitamin store and borrow all the different brands of methylcobalamin on their shelves. She brought me five and only one strengthened. We had her start taking it and the tremors resolved again.

To me the 2 interesting things about this case: 1) the change in raw material suppliers changed the outcome and if the patient brought hadn’t remarked about the color change I would have missed it if I relied on test kit samples and 2) without muscle testing we would have had no idea which other brand to substitute (though we also wouldn’t have known the original brand was now problematic either)

4. Body Restoration An Owners Manual - An updated and expanded version of my first book Body Mechanics published almost 30 years ago. Part 1 has a chapter on each organ/gland. Each chapter teaches basic anatomy and physiology, causes and symptoms of dysfunction, as well as simple treatments your patient can do at home to complement your treatment. Part 2 explains the role of dysbiosis, food intolerances, toxic metals, nutritional deficiencies and neurotransmitter imbalances in health. The book is a great review for the doctor, but better yet it is a great tool to recommend to your patient. It will give them a better understanding of how their body works and the causes of health and disease, as well as the rationale of why you treat the way you do. It is very pro chiropractic. It is available for $1.99 on kindle at http://www.amazon.com/Body-Restoration-Owners-Manual-ebook/dp/B0050653C4/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1353354004&sr=1-1
